Has anyone heard from Readon lately??? READON, WHERE ARE YOU, BB????  I'm here everyday on every thread. Because of RL, I am not able to post in realtime, but I read every thing that is posted. Sometimes, I don't get to the thread until 1 or 2 am in the morning, but I am still here. Currently jealous of all of you who are gong to Sonisphere. Have fun. Nonotme, the Sonisphere festival is paying Queen! They are the headliners for Saturday night, at a huge 3 day festival. At a historic venue for them and their fans. Their only UK concert for 2012! I would guess they are getting a huge fee. Out of which will come Adam's guest vocalist fee. I just did a rough guess of what that festival might gross for 3 days and without even considering merchandise, I got 37 million! Could this festival afford to pay the headliner, of each night 2 million? 3 million? I would say yes.  Is Rhianna's fee for a huge festival or are you quoting her concert figures? For a concert, that sounds about right. Festivals like Sonisphere would be completely different. I was off looking for more info for a bit and found this: Ben Turner is co-founder of the association of independent festivals (AIF) that represents the likes of Green Man, Eden Sessions, Get Loaded In The Park, Bestival, Creamfields, Evolution Festival, Field Day/Underage, Secret Garden Party and WOMAD.
He's told BBC 6 Music it's not uncommon for the biggest UK festivals to fork out more than a million pounds for a headliner, something which he says continues to rise.

Plus the magnitutde of this particular gig at that particular location would have been great for the Queen manager to negotiate. I also think, Brian and Roger would be very generous with Adam. |

I'm not going! You and I will be here that day chatting and watching the live stream! I'm not going either , at least so far. Still trying to decide if my tax refund is needed elsewhere! but of course it is!!!! anyway, nice to know I'll have company here if I don't go. we'll have fun, RIGHT!!!! :-/ I feel that we the ones left behind must stay strong and nobly man ATOP while everyone else is off crowd surfing in the UK and partying their heads off. We shall stay and whack the moles! And perhaps start a drinking game where we take a shot every time Adam says "Are you having fun?!" There better be a cell cast of this! |

I will be here hoping for a live stream as well. I had decided earlier on that I couldn't afford to do Burning Man no matter how much I wanted to so Sonisphere is definitely out of the question. But I trust that we will get to see it, if not livestream at the very least video. But I really think people should start begging on the Queen site now for them to either release a DVD or allow it to be filmed for broadcast. I remember how incredibly disappointing it was that the video from the Idol Finale was never available for sale on iTunes and I only hope that is because Queen just didn't want Idol to profit from it.

I'll be watching Adam and Queen via Atop and the live stream as well. Good times! Congrats to all those who are going to see the show in person! What a great adventure!
