Just a quick drive-by post for now, based on a few points from yesterday's thread:
Those using your credit cards now for these international payment and then get a request to send credit card statements. BEWARE! These are fraudulent requests in 99 % of all cases.
Banks do not need you to email or otherwise send credit card statements to process your visa transaction. The only thing normally totally legit at least here in US is that phone call from the bank asking you to confirm the unusual transaction. But they don't request personal info - they don't need to. They have this info when they call you, which is the very important distinction.
I have learned the hard way that if I fly to a country that is not one of my usual stomping grounds, I place a call to the bank prior to departure and let them know. Works like a charm. Prior to doing that, I have encountered a few incidences where the bank tried to follow up with me, did not reach me and started blocking the transactions. Unnecessary hassle - easily prevented with a phone call.
Unfortunately I cannot go this time, so I will be here with the locals. Wishing all those going though lots of fun planning everything out.
Finally, Q3, Cassie, or whoever else was talking about the BTIKM keys: I understand Gm, Bb, Eb and F, that all makes sense actually, but what is that split key nonsense called F/A?
Bruno Mars' "key of fuck"?
An A is part of a F-chord, so if you play it on a guitar you can either use the base A string or not use it, but why does it make it a different chord whether you do or don't? Obviously the sound changes, but not the chord. Or what am I missing?
I certainly did not try to review the chords of BTIKM to check whether there are 4 or more, but if somebody wants to argue that this split key nonsense somehow makes BTIKM more complex than a typical 4 chord song, then I sure don't get it.
BTIKM is difficult to sing because of its range and a few awkward jumps, not because of alterations in chord harmonies. But then, perhaps I just don't understand enough about all this. Btw, I do think that these more complex jumps make that song less accessible to the average listener and may actually be hindering the songs success in the general pop music world or could be contributing to it. It's possible.
Off to make some few more requests before calling it a night. Will be back later today.
