With all of this Queen talk, I've been thinking about the playlist, and what songs that I want Adam to sing, and what songs that will be the best for his voice. I think that The Show Must Go On, Somebody To Love, Under Pressure, Who Wants To Live Forever, WRTC, WWRY etc., are kind of perfect for his voice, and that they are right in his wheelhouse. But there are some songs in the Queen catalogue that I think that Adam/Queen should stay clear of.
Also I've been thinking about Adam, and the way he interprets songs. I've been thinking about that quote from a few days ago, of what Freddie said about creating songs that the crowd can sing along too. Most singers seem to, when they're singing live, the mediocre or bad performers will often fail trying to make their live performers come up to all the bells and whistles of the recorded versions of the songs. And the good singers will pretty much keep it the same as the recordings, ie Adele, Kelly Clarkson etc.,
When listening to Freddie live, it seemed that he may vary the live performances a little in the beginning of the songs, but he pretty much sings the song as it was recorded. We know how Adam loves to change up songs. I just wonder how he will interpret these songs.
And yeah all of this was just a roundabout way of not really saying anything, lol.

Finally, Q3, Cassie, or whoever else was talking about the BTIKM keys: I understand Gm, Bb, Eb and F, that all makes sense actually, but what is that split key nonsense called F/A? Bruno Mars' "key of fuck"? An A is part of a F-chord, so if you play it on a guitar you can either use the base A string or not use it, but why does it make it a different chord whether you do or don't? Obviously the sound changes, but not the chord. Or what am I missing? I certainly did not try to review the chords of BTIKM to check whether there are 4 or more, but if somebody wants to argue that this split key nonsense somehow makes BTIKM more complex than a typical 4 chord song, then I sure don't get it. Nothing that tricky about the F/A notation. It is an F chord, but, with an A note played in the bass, rather than the root of the chord, F. It does give it a different feel, rather unresolved, like it is moving on to the next chord. As to what makes BTIKM more complex than the typical 4 chord song, several things. First the typical 4 chord song has the same 4 chords played in the same order. For example, in the key of F, those chords are F, C, D minor and Bb. In that order. If you haven't listened to the comedy routine about 4 chord songs, you should. You will be amazed. BTIKM may have 5 chords but, not in a predictable or standard order. The opening line of a song usually has the base chord of the key. So, in the key of Bb, the first chord will be Bb. But in BTIKM, the opening chord of the verse is G minor which then leads to the Bb. The song also switched back and forth from minor chords to major ones. Pretty clever because the harmonies are a combination of light (major) and dark (minor) alternating back and forth. Another unusual thing is that a song usually ends the chorus by resolving back to the root chord in the key. For BTIKM, that would be a Bb. But, the BTIKM ends with an Eb chord. ??? No resolution. Okay, too much information (and I have just touched the surface). In summary, BTIKM does not follow the formula. One reason I like it, but it might make others vaguely uncomfortable.

Kevin Hastings has posted a new video ... he does talk about being inspired after traveling overseas .. Europe..London.. New York but the rest is just a "window" into how he works (he's doing a remix) OT but I found it very interesting... this vid shows that, like Adam, he is a perfectionist and in my opinion a very talented artist.
