queendears.tumblr.com/post/18187501343/declaration-of-brian-mayDeclaration of Brian May Brian May says: “Adam Lambert is a phenomenal singer and the sound is amazing at Sonisphere. We hope to reach the greatness of Freddie’s last gig there. It’s a challenge but then again that’s life.”. UKPA FESTIVAL CHALLENGE TO QUEEN’S MAY 23 Feb 2012 Queen guitarist Brian May has revealed that playing Sonisphere is thrilling but challenging. Brian and his drummer bandmate Roger Taylor will be joined by former American Idol singer Adam Lambert at their first headlining performance at Knebworth Park, 26 years after Queen’s final concert with late frontman Freddie Mercury in August 1986. “I think all the vibes will be good. I think the feeling about Freddie will be good, and I think if Freddie was around, he’ll approve of what we’re doing, because it’s interpreting those songs and those songs should live,” he said. “A lot of those songs are Freddie’s and we’ve got a great interpreter there, so I’m looking forward to it. It will be challenging, yes it would - my God, it will be challenging - but you’ve got to set yourself big hurdles to get over really. That’s what life is about,” he added. Roger admitted to having mixed feelings about the gig: “Well really, we don’t know until we play there. It’s a big challenge for us, come around in that complete circle. I do remember the sound being absolutely fantastic there when we played all those years ago with Freddie, for his last ever show with us, and I just hope we can come somewhere close to that with Adam Lambert, who is a phenomenal singer and an absolutely amazing talent.”

Did that NME interviewer seem kind of antagonistic towards Adam? Like he was kind of being a dick with some of the questions IMO. Adam handled it beautifully but they guy seemed to come shy of coming right out and saying you have no business singing with Queen I actually didn't read into the interview's feeling, but he did ask lots of questions that Queen fans and others have been batting back and forth. So for me, I'm actually a little grateful that someone took the time to ask those questions of him so that he could be the one to answer them rather than folks projecting what they think he should/would say.

www.larnetimes.co.uk/lifestyle/showbiz/adam_lambert_to_sing_with_queen_1_3544912#.T0a5rwlFOCI.twitterAdam Lambert to sing with Queen Published on Wednesday 22 February 2012 08:30 Adam Lambert is joining rock band Queen for one concert this summer, at Sonisphere 2012. The former American Idol singer tweeted: "As many suspected, I can finally confirm: I have been invited by Queen to sing one very special concert! Sonisphere at Knebworth July 7th!" He added: "The thought of sharing the stage for a full set is so beautifully surreal. I'm honoured to be able to pay my respects to Freddie's memory. He's a personal hero of mine and I am deeply grateful for the chance to sing such powerful music for fans of this legendary band." Adam had previously tried to play down his comments that he planned to perform a tribute to the late Freddie Mercury, the band's lead singer. He told his Twitter followers: "Sorry to be coy about the details the past few weeks, but I made a promise to keep it under wraps as best I could."

Also, someone had mentioned that in one of the interviews Adam explained the significance of the black leather pouch necklace. I haven't been able to find that one but have always been curious. Does anyone remember what he said about that? At 2.50 he talks about it "Kame-a" (don't know how to spell it) is just the Hebrew word for "amulet" (and he pronounced it right). It contains some hand-written script, either on paper or on parchment. The text depends on what the amulet is for, and from which area it originates - different countries have different Jewish traditions.

Just something I picked up from the Finnish magazine article that was posted yesterday -- When they were talking about Adam knowing much Finnish, Adam said maybe 10 words. Then the talk went around to sitting at Sauli's family's house with everyone talking Finnish and how he didn't mind cuz that's what happens to Sauli in LA. Do you guys remember the little twitter party that Adam held over the holidays and we were all cracking up that he must be sitting there while everyone else is chatting away in Finnish? Seems our speculations may have had some legs. Also, someone had mentioned that in one of the interviews Adam explained the significance of the black leather pouch necklace. I haven't been able to find that one but have always been curious. Does anyone remember what he said about that? At 2.50 he talks about it Thank you for posting this again. I actually listened to the whole thing this time around. The last time I tried to listen the girl was driving me crazy. I would never have guessed a prayer would be tucked inside the pouch. I thought maybe small stones or something. That's cool.
