LOL, was just about to ask that. The Top 13 opened with "So What," but Pink wasn't there, IIRC. Yup, the Top 13 opened with "So What", but no Pink. In fact, I don't think Pink has ever appeared on Idol, has she? Memory lane ("So What" starts at 2:22): Pink did tweet something about that performance to the effect of "I heard they butchered one of my songs on American Idol" or some such. Those group sings really were atrocious. I wouldn't mind one bit if they abandoned that whole concept.

Looks like Toby is making stuff up. Toby knows good and well that the fans would immediately speculate that he knows something so yeah, trolling for attention.

On the Idol Finale, there should be no mystery why KISS was aleardy booked for the Finale. Anywhere from the Top 5 to the Top 8 get to perform with an artists at the finale. I'm sure KISS was booked as soon as Adam made Top 5. Maybe even before, because as Q3 said, Ken Wariwck would have known what the voting was the entire Top 12. And the 2 finalists singing We Are the Champions would have been scheduled for whoever the 2 finalists were. Yes, Danny and Kris could have done it. Or Kris and Allison, or Adam and Allison. Any combination of those top 4 would have worked. It just wouldn't have been as stunning a performance without Adam. And we wouldn't have gotten to see that first look of admiration that Brian gave Adam. Sure Idol producers may have wanted them for any number of reasons but IMO no way would Queen have associated with AI again with only Danny, Kris or Allison as the draw. Had to be Adam that overcame their enmity. When rumors of Queen first started surfacing most in the bubble were convinced it would never happen because Brian had sworn never to have anything to do with them again. I agree. Did Queen have anything of their own to promote at the time of the AI8 finale? If not, then I'd say the producers had to entice them with something pretty special. You can't convince me that Danny, Kris, or Allison would lure them onto the show. At whatever point Queen agreed, I'm guessing that the producers were certain the the final 2 would be Adam/someone.

ITA -- now is the time to vote -- BTIKM has moved up to #29 on HAC and has a positive bullet. Not the mega hit we would all love to see but it is headed in the right direction. HAC 31 31 29 ADAM LAMBERT Better Than I Know M... 19/RCA 2011 spins 589 514 75 Stations playing 50 Aver spins per station 9.1 7.9 +1.2 +1 position +41 spins +38 Bullet +0.115 AI It was played by 50 monitored HAC stations in the past 7 days (up from 42). RCA has gotten stations to add the song. But fans are the ones getting it played. Well, this is great news. Top 30! Gotta say, though, I'm frustrated with KBIG in L.A. Would be great to get more spins in the #2 U.S. market. I've been texting or tweeting them every day, but I never hear BTIKM. I'm not going to give up requesting, but just wondering which is a more effective way to request: texting, tweeting or filling out the mediabase form? Or are they all equally effective?

Had to be Adam that overcame their enmity. When rumors of Queen first started surfacing most in the bubble were convinced it would never happen because Brian had sworn never to have anything to do with them again. I have read this comment over the past few weeks but when/where did Brian May say this? What I recall is that the Idol producers showed footage that made it look like Brian was critical of Ace Young and Brian commented on that. But I do not recall anyone ever commenting about they would never be on Idol again. Here is what Brian May wrote in April 2006: Well, no - there was never a plan for us to perform on the AI show. We only wanted to do the coaching thing, (done at our sound-check in Anaheim), to give as much as we could to the participants ... ... not go into the TV studio and 'advertise' ourselves ... I'm happy about that decision.
We DID send a great supportive message to the kids, but really we're happy that this was private too ....
We all send our commiserations to Bucky ... we all liked him a LOT.
As regards 'low blows' - yes I do feel that the show delivers a lot of these, now I am able to see it at close range ... it's disturbing. Thanks for the supportive letters to me, folks ... I have indeed lost a bit of sleep over the whole thing ... but now it's time to move on .... Link: brianmay.com/brian/brianssb/brianssbapr06a.htmlLaunch Radio Networks reports: Even though QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS were on "American Idol" this week, guitarist Brian May is no fan of the show. He said that footage the band shot with the contestants was manipulated to make it seem like he undercut Ace, who performed "We Will Rock You" on the show. The guitarist then laid out everything that happened between him and Ace, including how well they worked together, and how supportive he was of what Ace did with "We Will Rock You". To check out everything Brian May had to say, go to the "Soapbox" area on BrianMay.com. Link: legacy.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=50987Another more detailed report: today.msnbc.msn.com/id/12355699/ns/today-entertainment/t/queen-guitarist-idol-misrepresented-me/#.T0kIB3mwXbBAfter the performance on Idol, on May 22, 2009, Brian posted this Rolling Stone report on his blog: After Adam Lambert’s killer performance with Queen on Wednesday night’s season finale of American Idol, rumors flew that he had already been offered a job singing with the band. That’s slightly premature, according to the band’s guitarist, Brian May.
“Amongst all that furor, there wasn’t really a quiet moment to talk,” May tells Rolling Stone in an e-mail interview. “But [drummer Roger Taylor] and I are definitely hoping to have a meaningful conversation with him at some point. It’s not like we, as Queen, would rush into coalescing with another singer just like that. It isn’t that easy. But I’d certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there.”
May, whose band recently ended a four-year-long partnership with singer Paul Rodgers, is comfortable with Idol as a launching point for the careers of rock singers.
“You’d have to define ‘legitimate’ first,” he writes. “The long-term answer has to be that, if you have enough talent and enough will to succeed, you will get there by whatever route presents itself. Once you have scaled the castle walls, with the sword in your hand, it matters little how you got there. I’ve not always been positive about shows like this, but there is no doubt that it offers a door to some real genuine talent along the way.”
“Both those boys are well worthy of big success,” May continues, in regard to Lambert and Idol winner Kris Allen. “So it’s pointless for someone like me to stand on the sidelines jeering. I’m confident Adam will make great use of this wonderful opportunity. I hope I’m there to see it.”Did Brian May even know who Adam was before the finale? Brian and Roger (Deacon retired in 1997) also were on the 2009 finale of X-Factor UK. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2srXOzDny54There were a few high profile Brian-Roger performances in 2009 -- as they started the promo for the upcoming re-release of the Queen catalog.

First thing to check is how they list request info on the website. If one of those methods is not listed then it probably is more questionable. If you use the methods they list on the website then at least it seems like you visited the site.
