Great news that The Voice did so well in the ratings. I know all the judges are very well-liked, but I have to believe that Adam played a big role in attracting viewers. He's just a delight to watch.

I'll go with that !! There was a post here linking to a Facebook discussion about The Voice AU. It wasn't the official TV AU Facebook page, but it was a group devoted to discussion about the show. There was quite a bit of negativity about Kate, a surprising amount of snark about Guy, very little discussion of LeAnn, but pretty much universal love for Adam. How much effect his presence had on the ratings, I know not, but he was certainly a plus. I hope he comes back for another season if he wishes to do so. |

Interesting, Cleopatra. I didn't really see enough of Kate to know what the negativity was about, but I'm surprised about the snark about Guy...thought he was popular in Australia.

I like Guy, too. And I'm just ambivalent about the women judges. They're fine. I assume that most of the Voice viewers are female, so I am guessing that they find Adam very handsome and edgy, not to mention his entertaining personality. I stand by my guess that he was a major draw. It would be great if he did it again next year. I'm sure he gets paid a lot of money.

I posted this request/comment in the Cabaret thread also. Q3? Any other mods or  Is there a way/reason/interest in us having a thread in the Members Only section for folks looking for information and meetup arrangements for Cabaret? I cannot be the only one who needs to share accommodations and information in order to attend any show. In my case, for example, I need information regarding which airport is most practical, which hotels most practical and I need someone to share accommodations ...at the very least ... to make the trip any level of feasible. I have more discretion over the date than any of these other aspects of the trip. Most of this information, I need BEFORE making any other plans. I would suggest that there be a short announcement left in the "major announcement" thread indicating this thread even exists. It was always easy to make meetup plans before as the breadth of options for most people were specific. Also, New York City is probably the most difficult place in the country for folks with limited means and/or living outside of the country. It is pretty daunting. In my specific case, the 'best' time frame for me would be March [after first weekend] ; or January; or perhaps December [except for flight costs....but I would be open even to flying Christmas Day or some such...that is always an easy day to fly, oddly enough...the rest of the month is going to be close to impossible to get reasonable flights. |
