I'm not getting why we would be limiting the matching amount. Why don't we just match dollar for dollar until the maximum matching amount is reached? Seems it would be much easier to keep track of.
I guess I'm afraid that donations won't reach the matching funds considering how slow donations have been lately.
By the way, count me in for $100 in the matching pool!!

Trespassing is up to #74 on Amazon! Last time I checked, it was around 125. He would be much higher without Whitney H's 16 or 18 CD's ahead of him. 8-) I can't believe Adele is still at #1. Q3 - I don't understand this: 2. Sign up to be a “Adamtopia Leap Day Challenge Match Donor”. You can sign up to match donations totaling $100 or more. The sign-up list is located here. You must include your Adamtopia ID but it is fast, free and easy to become a member.
(I will create an excel/Google Docs signup sheet.) I was going to match $1/donation regardless of donation size. So, I know I will match 100 contributions made on 2/29. This is simple to execute. Why do we need to sign up? THe only reason we tracked the amount was to announce the $amount of matching PER DONATION. SO, now it should $31.30 (if $3130 is the latest pool) match for every donation. I am now confused... but regardless - I will donate in the manner I explained above.

Why limit the amount of donations? Couldn't we raise more, faster if we don't limit it? I am a dunce when it comes to things like this. Help me understand, please. |

I guess the idea is an optimistic one. If we match dollar for dollar, than the most we can raise through the challenge is twice our Atop pledged pot (that is, right now, around $7200, which is nothing to sneeze at!). But if we pair our matches to the number of donations, rather than to the $ amount, we could in theory raise much more (say, if there were 720 donations averaging $10 per donation, that would be $7200 plus the $5 we've added (on averge) for each of those donations--that is, our $3600 pot--so 10,800 in all). In other words, in theory we can inspire more donors if we don't cap it at $3600 (or whatever our pot ends up being). Does that makes sense? |

Dollar for dollar match works best (more attractive) if we have a larger match fund pool to work with. Maybe $5,000+. Not impossible...
