I'm also now quite confused as to how the matching thing works, but I will be donating on Wednesday regardless. I don't know if I can do $100 to match as I'm in the middle of some financial transitions, but I definitely will do another $30, possibly $50. Let me know if I need to break those up into smaller increments to make sense. Thanks. NoAngel and Cassie, I totally agree with your assessments about Adam's statement that gay is fierce – I do equate that with the Black is Beautiful movement of the '60s and '70s – it was meant to empower the minority so that they were proud of who they were and that they had nothing to feel inferior about. In order for them to step into the power of who they truly were and stand up for their rights, they had to combat centuries of programming to the contrary. Women did this in the '60s and '70s too with the Women's Lib movement. Before we can fight for our rights, we have to BELIEVE we deserve them. When you've lived you entire life hearing evidence to the contrary, it becomes deeply ingrained and there is much programming to combat. And this doesn't just apply to minorities or women, but to ANYONE who has been made to feel "less than" in their lives, regardless of the individual circumstances. With gay rights being a pivotal issue right now, Adam knows there are still many kids who do feel deeply ashamed and are still trying to process this and having authority figures in this country treat them as something to fear or blatantly deride them as sinful, "abominations" that is a LOT for a young, struggling person to combat. It's a lot for a confident, fierce person to combat. Spot on susiefierce. I interpreted Adam's tweet as a message of empowerment. I am so happy he is taking up the "cause" and speaking articulately, forcefully and frequently! My own kid had to deal with several so called close friends telling him they hated the sin but loved the sinner. Or being told he was being prayed for (because of the gay). Needless to say these folks are not considered friends anymore and he moved on. Too bad though. As long as we have a very large segment of the population that believe gay is a condition to be fixed or preach compassion/tolerance for those with same sex attraction, (just don't act on those "feelings"), we need a voice like adam to tell it like it is. whether gay is fun, fierce, or fabulous! Speak it Adam! |

Might want to include @adamlambert in tweets. @midwife The minimum fund raised, not max, will be $3,500 (assuming we have $3,500 to match) according to Q3's plan.@mallow Dollar for dollar match works best (more attractive) if we have a larger match fund pool to work with. Maybe $5,000+. Not impossible... hmmm...I thought I understood that...did I says something somewhere to the contrary? Sorry if I did, I didn't mean to, maybe I'm just adding to the confusion in my efforts to clear it up... :  I apologize if that's the case! My only question with Q3's plan was that it seemed to me somewhat optimistic that we'd get $3500 in donations to match (we'd now need even more, as people keep joining the pledge list) if we're matching via small donations such as $1 or $2. I thought we might be more certain of reaching it, and also have the benefit of keeping things simpler, if we just gave $5 per donation of any size. In the extreme case, if all donations were $1, we would need 3500 fans to participate in order to make the most of our pot. Even if the average donation is more than $5, we still need 700 participants to reach our full matching potential (even more as our pot goes up). I have no way to guess how likely that is, but as someone has pointed out, so far there have been just over 1000 donations since January. So it may be a bit ambitious (I hope I'm wrong!) But I'll shut up now. |

q3 and mods - Can put all these international radio votes on the front page? So we can do it right before reading the news too??  If I can get a bit of help, I will be happy to post on page 1. If someone can volunteer to put together a list and post it in the thread or PM it to me. I put it on page 1. (Just like MyS*&@^#r50 does for the US.) Anyone want to give it a shot? ******************** Also, to US Members --- this week requests for BTIKM matter a lot. I am pretty sure everyone is getting tired of requesting but now it really matters. Request locally, use mediabase forms or call or whatever the station wants. Then vote on VH1. Then help on the stations that take requests form anywhere. ******************** Okay.. I volunteer to do it.. and I think we're just missing gelly's star.fm link... and will PM it to you |

Oh well, thanks for trying to explain it to me but I'm still not getting how this matching thing works. HOWEVER, I trust that you guys have this! No worries from me. I'm just floored by how generous everyone is.
I posted a time or two ages ago, but for some reason I'm back to brand newbie. But I am a champion lurker. First NYMichael, then MJ's to Planetfierce and now Adamtopia.
