Everyone excited about the Grammy nominations? Not me, lol. As expected, the pop solos and pop album nominations all went to women. Rock solo and albums went to males other than St. Vincent and Brittnay Howard. They are LGBT women and managed to get in a few in rock. Alt was mixed with males and females. Oh and Beyonce got 11 nominations and more than anyone. Oh the joy. HA.
Oh well. I lost interest a long time ago when Adam's labels never released and promoted any of his award-winning type songs (other than WWFM). They always went for the more pop/dance music that could not compete with the divas and a few younger males. But they continued unsuccessfully down that road only to see his music and talent mostly overlooked outside of QAL and some covers. And they bypassed gems like Underneath, Sleepwalker, There I Said It, Closer To You, Feel Something, On The Moon, Runnin and Chokehold and some of his other really good works. And there were many of them that could have been award worthy considerations, if others outside his fanbase were exposed. But with his interviews with Afters, I now think he was driving those choices more than the label because the more pop/dance music was in his blood and more to his liking. I hope there is still a chance for more QAL and music to get excited about. Even on a smaller tour, if that is the only way to hear his vocal talent. And it has nothing to do with peal clutching or being close-minded to Afters or his club/party community. I'm just not interested in dance/club/party music, lol.

Honestly, the Grammies aren't even on my radar. After the shitshow on Tuesday, I couldn't possibly care any less about who wins or who is nominated for a Grammy...seems just so inconsequential.
But yes, hope for more tours for Adam, with or without QAL. Spent all last evening listening to his music and watching videos...my Adam music therapy.

But my way of trying to deal and distract from Tuesday may not be the same as your way, you must understand. I have been watching older Adam videos as well. With or without Queen. Nothing is really working but can't just give up trying and looking for any distractions. And we can't talk much politics here so I was trying to find something or anything else to talk about, lol. |
