www.reddit.com/r/Broadway/comments/1gs5hxj/5_shows_3_days/5 shows 3 daysCabaret at the Kit Kat Club. Yes. Just. Yes. Even though I am an Avid Eddie Redmayne hater, and having heard what this production had done I was sure I was going to hate it. Having seen a different production 17 times beforehand I could’ve sworn it would’ve been vile. But I fucking loved it. I loved it. I loved it. I loved it. The preshow was honestly fucking awesome, the violin lady waved at me and I haven’t been the same since. And Adam Lambert as the emcee made me scream like a banshee. This shit made me scream “holy fuck” after Willkommen. This production gave more than it should’ve but good god I want more. I’m more than satisfied but I’m in a cabaret fever. Cabaret is my favorite musical and this just reignited my love for it. Edit: the violin player in the prologue company. Fucking amazing. She waved at me about three times and I haven’t been the same. 15/10. I will return.

www.reddit.com/r/Broadway/comments/1gdfjas/my_first_trip_to_new_york_has_made_a_theater_fan/My first trip to New York has made a theater fan of me.I’m a writer. I have a degree in English, and I teach. I’m a pretty solid candidate for the archetypical “theater kid”, and in fact, most of my friends throughout my life have been theater nerds! I just never caught the bug, I guess—I appreciate a good show and will never say no to a live performance, but I’ve never gone out of my way to see one. Well, I had a long weekend off work and decided to take my first ever trip to New York. It was a solo trip, and per recommendations from my theater-loving friends, I saw a show every night I was there. I think I might be a theater nerd now. Friday was my first big girl theater experience—Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club. It was phenomenal. I saw the movie for the first time in college; I had the soundtrack on repeat back then and utterly loved the film. I had never seen it on stage, so I knew it would be very different, and I was wowed. Adam Lambert was stunning. Unfortunately, Auli’i wasn’t there, but I think Gabi Campo knocked it out of the park. I could write an essay about what an amazing show it was, but I’ll leave it here and say this is one I’ll be thinking about for a while.

www.facebook.com/groups/1106277030752843The Kit Kat Club: Cabaret on Broadway Fan GroupSteven KellerBrief Show Review and Question about Cast Recording!Saw the show for the very first time with a front row table last Saturday at 2PM with my wife (we got a phone call from LuLu, some eye contact with Adam Lambert, and my wife caught Sally's cigarette!!)....it was AMAZING and left us both deeply moved, especially as an interracial family. Adam as Emcee and Gabi Campo as Sally gave performances of a lifetime, and the entire cast was fantastic!!! My wife was moved to tears, and I on the inside, by Adam's performance of "If You Could See Her", which we immediately recognized as having meaning and relevance to both 1930s Jewish couples as well as all couples throughout history who have had their relationships questioned, mocked, prevented and persecuted due to bigotry and hate (interracial, LGBTQ+ etc.) ......and yes, Adam sadly had to stare down some audience members who were laughing, even at the end of the song. From the scene prior to that song to the very end of the show, we were deeply troubled and moved, and left the theatre thankful that such relevant issues have been brought to life by this amazing show and cast for audiences to experience and (hopefully) be meaningfully influenced by... Is there any word on whether this particular show (with Adam and company) will have a cast recording and, even more importantly, a video recording of their performance released after their run ends? Their performance, especially Adam's, is so well done and so important in today's world that it truly deserves to be shared with the world in every media form possible after its 6 month stage run comes to a close. Connie Beach MaltinThank you for expressing the true meaning of this show. I was in tears at the end. The audience sat in silence. I can’t imagine someone laughing. This production is excellent in expressing what happened, and the fears we need to face for now and the future. Marcos MirabalI'm glad to hear that you and your wife enjoyed the show. I thought Adam was amazing as the Emcee. I'm surprised to hear that some audience members laugh during "If you could see her". At our performance, due to the way that Adam performed the song, everyone was silent and even looked a bit uncomfortable from the start, as he made it clear with his tone, etc. that they were not playing this number for laughs. Others already familiar with the show were already aware in advance but I'm sure that not everyone knew exactly what was coming but were still able to figure out that this wasn't a comedic performance. Ezra PaikoffOne of the best sung performances I've ever seen in ages!!! His voice blew the roof off and I had full body chills for the entire time he was present onstage.
