Not a fan of NAL at all. I've never bought a thing he's put out. But I will give him credit, he's got a REALLY current sounding song, imo, for either HAC or CHR. And I'm fine with all of that  I just want Adam taken care of by the label. I'm cool with a HAC hit (or moderate hit) in BTIKM. But then RCA has to finally let a "big one" drop. I don't care if it's a risk. Get a smash song out there that CHR will support and work it like Interscope seems to be doing for its artists. I am confused here, and not trying to be confrontational so don't get me wrong but....do you listen to pop radio? Like....at all? I just listened to Kris' new single---and not the dance remix that surfaced by the way--but the actual single single and there is nothing remotely current about it for CHR radio. There is NO WAY that song could compete in the CHR landscape of Riri and Katy and LMFAO and all the other power players. Hell it can't even compete with Bruno Mars stuff. If anything that song is MORE HAC then BTIKM. And the production is cheap as hell. I say this not to bash Kris---I don't have any problem with him at all and wish him well--but coming from a place where I listen to pop radio almost every day. www.youtube.com/watch?v=eipYjJgltgcThis is his song. This would have an even harder time fitting in on CHR radio than BTIKM and I just don't get what you are getting at about this tbh. BTIKM has modern Dr. Luke/Claude Kelly production while this song just....doesn't. Sorry I am totally mystified. I agree. The main problem with this song is the production choices. The part at the end doesn't fit with the rest of the song, there is no reason for it to be there. The chorus is muddled- you can't understand half of the words. The falsetto is a hot mess! NAL does not have the type of voice, or falsetto that the guy in The Script has. This is a poor man's imitation of a song by The Script and the production choices keep it from being a good formula for a Pop hit. The only thing that "fits Pop" better with this song is it is uptempo vs midtempo for BTIKM. Other than that, it has a bunch of problems. It is no more Pop than BTIKM is! |

Marie23, you nailed it! It's sounds just like She will be loved. The falsetto sounded SO familiar but I couldn't figure it out. That is completely it. The song will be a mess sung live. Tigerlily, I agree that the song itself really isn't more pop than BTIKM, except for that tiny window (usually charting between 10 and 20) where songs like Gavin Degraw's current one and a couple by The Script's can squeeze in. And that's all I'll say about this, because Adam is so much more fun to talk about |

I'm not a Script fan, I know they had a huge hit with Breakeven....but wasn't that like their only CHR hit? And that was a couple of years ago. They had a another song after that but it wasn't a huge hit, esp. not on CHR.
Kris' song may very well do okay on HAC. He'll have to get out there and promote the hell out of it like Adam is doing. Arkansas stations will spin the hell out of it, like they do everything Kris. But if well established artists like Daughtry, who are more like Kris than Adam, aren't making it on CHR, I find it hard to believe this song will break on CHR.

The Script have four songs that have charted on CHR Breakeven #6 For the First time #11 Nothing #19 The man who can't be moved #27 The Script is The Script and Kris does himself no favors by mimicing their sound. Radio only needs so many songs that sound that way IMO. I listened to VOL and while I think the song is plesant enough I forgot it within second of listening to it. There is nothing memorable about it. I wish Kris well and hope he finds success. I don't honestly care if he becomes the next big thing. Kris' success (or lack of) has no relevance to Adam's career and whatever happens; good, bad or indifferent with Kris' new music, it won't impact what happens with Adam's. |

Well I think the song is catchy, I guess as I was bopping to it when it was playing, even though I didn't remember it after one listen. But instead of singing the song, as I said earlier, I was singing She Will Be Loved. It might just be the low quality recording, that made it hard to understand what was being said. On another note, do any one have BTIKM chart positions and updates, as well as Itunes position? At slow computer at work, and can't access the site. :( |
