Montrose is fabulous! But I think Dallas is much more of the mecca, from what I hear. JMO would love for Adam to come to Austin, I think he would really like ti! Go Texas!!!!!! OT but I was wondering if any of you guys from Texas could tell me anything about Lucas Texas? That's where my Beared Collie dog was born and her breeder lives. Momtomany I PM'd you. I think Lucas is a suburb of Dallas. From what little I know it is a former farm area that has recently been transformed by lots of newcomers looking for country living.

Dallas should be a larger and more important market for Adam than Houston. Dallas is more "cosmopolitan", has a great fashion scene, it is where the money outside of the oil business is. Also, they have a large gay community there, the gay mecca of Texas, as it were. Houston has a completely different make up of population, and primarily driven by the oil industry. Also, although the Houston GNT was technically "sold out" there were quite a few vacant seats at the concert, and there were quite a few tickets that people bought and couldn't sell. So Adam was not quite as popular there as he was in Dallas. Houston has a much more diverse and international population than Dallas and has an openly gay mayor. Plus, the Houston arts scene is much more vibrant than Dallas. Adam should be right at home here.

Also, they have a large gay community there, the gay mecca of Texas, as it were. Houston has a completely different make up of population, and primarily driven by the oil industry. What about Montrose in Houston? I thought that was a great gay mecca? And if it's gay meccas he's after ... what about Austin? We're the gayest mecca there is! (I realize it's not a huge market, just being a baby. I'm really glad he's hitting Texas so hard!!) That's so interesting, because my impressions of Dallas and Houston are totally reversed from yours, mahailia, although I haven't spent a whole lotta time in either. I think of Dallas as basically an old-fashioned Texan city, and of Houston as a truly international metropolis--huge international population (esp. asian), very diverse, fourth biggest city in the US. One of my best friends from college is a gay guy who lives in the Montrose area of Houston that Junie mentioned, and I think he finds plenty of lively cultural stuff there. Houston has some fabulous restaurants, amazing music, and terrific museums (too bad you have to drive through several circles of hell to get there). If you want great museums in Dallas, you have to head to Fort Worth, where admittedly they are top notch, but Fort Worth really is an old-fashioned cattle town (in a kinda cool way). (Although Dallas County did elect an out lesbian latino sheriff--my go-to fact up east when people make (frequently fair) assumptions about Texas!) Wish Austin had a fraction of either Houston or Fort Worth's museum culture. Maannnnnn I am sooo of topic, sorry, got distracted...but yeah, WORD on Adam's coming to Austin. I'd be really curious about the turn-out he'd get. Kinda a snobby music town, I'm sorry to say, and more into the indy and blues scenes...But, yeah, Adam would love the Austin scene, and you betta believe AMW and I have a whole itinery planned out for him : . ETA: sorry, now we Texans are just repeating each other! Totes Agreed, Mahailia: the mo Adam fans anywhere in the Lonestar State the mo betta. :D

Or maybe in Houston, one gig is in the afternoon and the other one late afternoon or early evening. Hard to keep track of his schedule! LOL How many gigs does he have in Dallas anyway? I've lost track. This is what we have so far: March: Radio, US. i93 Hits Dallas,TX. March 5: 103.7 Lite FM Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. Live in Studio. March 5: MIX 102.9DFW Dallas, Texas. “exclusive Mix Session” March 6: Mix 96.1 Dallas, Texas. I am trying to keep up with all these appearances and add them to the Adamtopia calendar. If you check out the calendar link, PM me regarding any errors or gigs/interviews that I have missed. Thanks.
