I'm hoping video of this surfaces! LOL! From moxie4ever at IDF:
I wanted to share something funny Adam said at 107.3. One of the questions he did answer was about the stangest things fans have asked him to sign. He answered "body parts" and then went on to joke that some of those "down there" tend to get "sweaty" so the "ink does not stay on"...the woman who asked had a child with her and moved to cover his ears when he said "down there." Adam was looking right at her so he said "I know there is a kid here....I was talking about feet!!!" and he said it with a smirk so everyone cracked up....I was hoping it was caught on video but have not seen any that have that part yet... via mmadamimadamm (@mmadamimadamm)

I’m barging into the thread out of order because someone tweeted me that my video was posted on ATOP a couple of hours ago. I just wanted you to know it was mine. I took it at Adam’s 107.3 Fresh FM radio promo held at Gibson’s on Monday, last week.
I had a camera glitch and it defaulted to VLC, so I had to convert it to MP4. and remember how to upload to Youtube. Robinny uploaded OOL for me in Ste Agathe, and I couldn’t remember how to do it at first.
Anyway, there are already so many BTIKM vids out there, that I didn’t want to spam here. I like my vid because Gibson’s stage was bathed in natural light, and Adam looks very natural. FWIW, the sound is “authentic” from my camera.
I'm a "vocals" person, and really wanted to hear Adam close up, in a small room, just once. It was worth the many hours of listening to the radio, phoning, Facebook liking to hear him that way. I didn’t even win a ticket in the end, but another Glambert took me as her +1.
A bonus was that I was one of the five people without tickets who was let into the Hamilton Nightclub (94.7FM) that evening at the last moment. And afterwards, as Hoppers, Shufly and RJacksPF have written, Tommy McFly was great to talk to at dinner. What a day!
Kanadie is going to Moscow? Wow! Who else is going? I'm weeks behind in my Adam stanning on Atop, so out of the loop. We're planning super party in the Knebworth meet-up thread, though.

So what do you want from me? by contributor Brendan Kownacki Tuesday, March 13, 2012 hollywoodonthepotomac.blogspot.com/2012/03/ok-so-what-do-you-want-from-me.html#more
It was a rock-star reception on Monday evening when American Idol alum Adam Lambert hit the stage at brand new hot spot, The Hamilton, for a short private concert for the listeners of 94.7 Fresh FM.
Lambert fans came in throngs showing their support for the rocker who was in town to promote his newest album.
Whew.... So sorry for the delayed post after last nights promo event at the Hamilton and Fresh 94.7 FM. My mind was mush last night and the whole thing is a blur, but I'll give it a shot. Let me preface by saying this is the first meet-and-greet I have been too. I just don't feel comfortable with the whole concept, but after so many adam shows and so many squees over how amazing he is up close and personal, I just had to go. I've been to many shows - Gridlock, Fantasy Springs, Leno, and a bunch of GNT shows. Just never a meet and greet. Not my thing, but this was such a golden opportunity that I couldn't pass it up.
They told us to be at the venue NLT 6:00 pm, so I left work at 5:00 and got there earlier than expected at 5:15 (yay for good traffic karma!!). There was a queue of people outside on the sidewalk and plenty of security and radio peeps around. Hoppers & Rjacks were not there yet, and I didn't want to stand in the line on the sidewalk, so I checked in, got my wristband, and then went inside to the bar and had a couple of drinks while I studied the crowd outside and listened to the conversations at the bar. There was a group of 4 businessmen sitting next time me puzzling over WTF was happening outside. The bartender told them it was for Adam Lambert, and 3 out of 4 knew who he was - you know, the guy who won American Idol :-)))). I talked to them for a bit about Adam and they seemed appreciative and marveled at his big crowd of fans out on the sidewalk.
There were about 50 or 60 people there - mixed crowd, but 80% female and most over 30yrs old. The usual mix :-)
Hoppers FINALLY arrived after her traffic drama - just as the last of the group was heading down the stairs to the venue (it is now around 6:30). Before we went downstairs I introduced myself to Tommy McFly - who I have been talking to and tweeting for about 3 years now. He is one of the good guys. Only 25 years old, but so respectful of the fans and he's smart and cute. My fave. Hoppers already told you about the conversation we had with him in our booth afterwards at dinner. Very interesting!!
So once downstairs, we sat at a table right up front with RJACKS and others who I don't know their ATOP names. Tommy talked on stage for a bit and then Adam and Tommy came out and went right into singing BTIKM which sounded AMAZING! He looked beautiful and it was like being in a dream!! Tommy's guitar work sounded fine. Honestly I don't really pay that much attention to the accompanyment in these acoustic songs, and (ducks) think that Monte sounded better than both Tommy and Kevin.
Once BTIM was done, Tommy McFly came out on stage and conducted his conversation /interview and I'm sure most have already seen that on-line. It was cute and fun. Adam definitely noticed repeat customers in the audience and when he asked who had already seen him that day, more than half raised their hands. TommyJoe did seem very bored during this time and I noticed him yawning a lot, lol. There was no Q&A from the audience and the crowd was quieter than I expected. Maybe burnout from most of them being at 2 shows preceeding this one. Then Adam sang WWFM and even though I've herad it a million times, it sounded amazing and emotional and perfect.!!
Then it was over and everyone got in a line and waited for their turn at pics. Hoppers and I didn't want a pic so we plotted on how we would spend out time with Adam. She had the Acousic Live CD and a sharpie and all I wanted was a hug. She went first and got the autograph and then me and my hug and then we talked Queen and Soniphere. I asked him how he was possibly going to get ready for the show with all of the songs/lyrics and teased him about lyric fail. He said that he had about 10 days in June planned for rehearsal and knew that he had a lot of work ahead of him but wasn't worried about it. I can't really remember what we said after that because we were being rushed out. I started to walk away, but then his gravity pulled me back and I said, awwww, can i have another hug. I figured he'd think I was a complete freak, but instead he just smiled and said of course and wrapped his arms around me and we squeezed each other tight, and then it was over. Big sigh.....
We all went upstairs after that and had dinner and Tommy McFly came to our booth and sat down and we had the wonderful conversation that Hoppers talked about. He's a good guy.
What a wonderful evening!! And can I just say that Glamberts Rule!! Everyone was so sweet and gracious. And Hoppers and Rjacks ROCK, as well as Spardu and everyone else!!!!
Well, that's it. Probably the only time I will do that. But what a wonderful memory!!
[revives slightly]
Traded a "no picture" request for TWO hugs AND and a ~super sneaky autograph of my red-spined, 1st edition, Acoustic Live CD !!!
[grins evily] * Fresh FM girl: "No autographs allowed - we have pre-printed pics for you" * Me: [thinks fast] 'My first and maybe only meet-n-greet....gonna try.....' * [holds CD next to coat, with pen already uncapped] * [grins at Adam, bats eyelashes, "This is my first time meeting you EVER [quietly shows off CD] Pleeeeeeze!" * [Adam grins, opens up DC, pulls cover out of jewel case and signs actual cover] * [gets my SECOND hug, and then both schufly and I talk to him about Sonisphere for waaaay past our alloted time!]
BTW - Was sitting in a swank table up front (THANK YOU RJACKS for saving us seats while I was caught behind a stupid car accident on the George Washington Parkway and completely freaking out that I was going to miss the whole thing).
Both Adam (and Tommy's accompaniment) sounded absolutely gorgeous.
[grin] And I *do* have a good ear and was sitting about 10 feet away from them both. Video recording does neither of them justice.
[grins even more evily]
BTW - While eating a post-Adam dinner with schufly, rjacks, spardu, and others, the 94.7 DJ, Tommy McFly, came by and sat with us for about a half-hour.
We talked detailed radio stuff.
Veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery interesting........
Oh, I don't think so ;D This is never ending topic
[laughs] Well, my two cents is that I was THERE. Less than 10 feet away from both Adam and Tommy. And after many years of playing a couple instruments, I think I have a pretty good ear. IMO, Tommy sounded great. ;D 8-) [/size][/blockquote] [/quote] LOL this is all very well and good BUT DID YOU SMELL HIM?? :D
[giggles] Ok - I have a good ear. I don't have a good sense of smell (too many years of sniffing acetone while cleaning university glassware, plus I'm wired a bit oddly). He smelled.....guy-like. [shrugs] ETA: Maybe the cologne wore off by that time of the evening. [grins] Maybe I just can't tell. But honestly, he didn't smell particularly like anything. [/size][/blockquote] [/quote] Just give us the most important tid bit to tie us over until you have time to write a loooong post detailing it all.
Ok - I'm being pulled in way too many directions right now, so here's the CliffNotes version (will try to add more nuanced detail later) Topic: Major city adds: * Major cities have major $$$ in advertising dollars - small drops in listeners = large revenue drops * Most large cities will ONLY play "sure things" * The smaller cities are those who can afford to take risks with new music as there is less revenue to lose. * Washington DC WILL ALWAYS look at the smaller markets (along with Z100) to make add decisions * The three big DC stations (107.3, 99.5, 94.7) do not use the same criteria for adds. * 94.7 is looking for ways to distinguish themselves from 107.3 and 99.5, are extremely aware at what competitors (and markets like New York and Baltimore) are playing * (Hint, hint) "Organically" liked songs always start from the smaller markets Topic: Adam* Extremely talented * Nice guy Topic: Adam fandom* Impressively knowledgeable (radio workings/numbers) * Extremely organized * Loyal * the fansites' reach and organization [bows] are a source of impressed amazement (at least to McFly) Topic: Odds-n-ends* Tommy McFly is respectfully impressed with Adam's fanbase * He is impressed with Adam * Did not know about charities * Did not comment specifically about BTIKM (but we didn't ask him directly either) * Did not comment specifically about upcoming singles (but we didn't ask him directly either) * McFly is really young for his position, knows his stuff, and is a self-admitted radio geek. Was mentored by Jack Diamond (@ 107.3), but is now striking on own (@94.7) with creative choices and a supportive mangement even for non-traditional decisions. Will be veeery interesting to see what develops. Ok - those be the highlights. ;D ETA: Oh, forgot to add... Topic: Song likability (ex. Gaga) * Artists with a track record will always get immediate adds * However, the radio stations WILL track likability via requests and tweets * Gaga's "You and I" was pulled quickly due to lack of listener support * HSM takeaway - requests count!!!! Gah - McFly also said something important about Aribtron, but I'm forgetting the context.... [/size][/blockquote] [/quote]
