that OOL vid that was posted is seriously gorgeous. I like Kevin's guitar on it too...sounded a bit more emphatic in parts.
adding it to my itunes because I only have 14 versions so far ;D

The first time I saw a GNT show, I "signed up" to livestream. It was a disaster. For some reason I couldn't get the sound to broadcast, and my phone was buzzing with people sad-facing about it on twitter :-[ I vowed never to do that to myself (and poor suffering viewers) again. Way too stressful. I barely remember the first part of that concert.
Since then, when I go to concerts, I do tweet because I know (from sitting at home during concerts) that some people do enjoy following live-tweeting and hearing what is going on. In fact I feel a bit guilty if I don't tweet, lol. There was one GNT concert I went to where I think I was the only one tweeting from there. It was a big happy crowd (can't remember where this was) but just not a Twittery crowd. I've learned to balance experiencing the concert and tweeting about it. I don't tweet constantly, and i'm fast so it only takes a few seconds, so I think I still get the whole experience. That said, I often consciously decide to just BE for some songs or sets, and just absorb what is in front of me. Plus a lot of the time I'm dancing and flailing too hard to do anything else ;D
I can't speak for those who regularly film vids. I only tried that once and it really separated me from the show. Never did it again.

@bani_: MIX102.9: outlaws of love (video): youtu.be/R8lZbEY34pw via @youtube I love Kevin's guitar playing so much better than Monte. Not just saying that because M is on my sh*t list either. Kevin seems lighter and more melodic. Does that make sense? I know nothing about playing instruments. ETA: This is a morning performance!!! This man blows me away, time after time!!

This is really interesting I think...if it were my research interest, this picture would make a really compelling argument for the 'disconnect' between people and their utter preference for virtual communication over face-to-face....and for the fact that this is not just a 'youth' phenomenon! What does that say about us? And that pic is taken of a small homogenous group of people with a strong common interest! I don't have a cell phone--did when they first came out, years ago, but don't really have a big need for one now...not that I would say no to a gift . My question is, for those who spend a lot of their 'concert' time filming and tweeting, when you 'remember' or 'relive' the concert...or when you read your tweets back, do you remember and relive the concert, or the tweeting [complete with all the concert ambience]? I always advised students to sit in their 'usual' seats when writing an exam as we tend to recall things in a holistic experiential way...that is...when trying to recall what a professor said or a film showed, one of the most effective paths to successful recall was to picture...visualize..the learning experience....to re-see the learning point. How does that extrapolate to the experience of texting and tweeting during a concert or waiting for the concert? Also, how does the mediation of the camera impact the experience of the concert? I have often wondered how Suz526's experience of a concert differed from mine, for example....just curious...not attaching value, just interested. I remember during GNT being so grateful to all those who videotaped the performances, esp Suz526, but at the same time, thinking that I would never do it. When my kids were young and we tried to tape sporting events, we missed the whole thing trying to get it on tape. Nope, the concerts I attended, my eyes were always on the stage watching Adam and whatever else struck my fancy. By the way, of the 4 concerts my cohort and I went to, we only sat together at one - Melbourne. MB HOB I sat with a friend, but the other 2 I had a blast with people I never met before, especially at Raleigh. The couple next to me had come up from Tampa, a present from him to her for their anniversary. He had been a drummer in a band that opened for Motley Crue, a few other bands I forget now, but was now a businessman. He hooted and hollered for Allison AND for Adam, at the proper times, enjoyed it every bit as much as she did.

I know zip too... my description is as "caress". I'm not easily impressed and I rarely make OOT statements.. but impressed I was with the guitar playing on this particular song. His style perfectly matched the lyrics.

I agree that Kevin's playing is more pleasing. I hear more emotion and sensitivity in it. He works very well with Adam and I sense they are more "in tune" with each other, if you pardon the pun. Watching OOL and BTIKM I started giggling. We talk about the plethora of WGWG (white guys with guitar), and how generic and boring they are. But here is a WGWG and the sound is exquisite. I guess it is not the "genre" that I object to, but the level of artistry. I would be deliriously happy with an entire set of Adam doing WGWG. J/S

I think A and M were pretty connected during Aftermath but I also agree that it is a real pleasure to see these two so in sync with each other. fwiw I think this seriously is the best...certainly the most moving rendition of OOL yet! Had me in tears! so so so good....
