Yeah - I wanna hear Adam singing NCOE before I decide which I like best or what I think will work best for the next single. It has to sound great for radio. If it's the Bruno song - I think that's great. Can't decide on a song just because he is sooooo hot singing it on stage. heh. They will choose the next one with the most chance for big success - Grammy? :D Maybe even a third - or fourth single! 8-) NCOE demo sounds to me indistinguishable from BTIKM. And BTIKM is indistinguishable from WWFM. All three in the same mold. It is time for Adam music. ALL HIS songs on FYE were superb, ALL had his own sound, both ballads and dance songs. I have no idea what radio would or would not play. They sure don't want to play BTIKM (and this is the only time I "understand" them). If Bruno's name will get a radio "hit" - I am all for it. But in my own little world - I want to have my younger family members and friends apply something rather than the word "boring" to Adam - this is how they see him BECAUSE of the radio. And it's not the matter of dancy or slow music. OOL is beautiful. Chokehold is beautiful. Voodoo is beautiful. Aftermath is beautiful. Broken Open is more than beautiful. BTIKM is not. NCOE demo is not. Cuckoo and Trespassing MUST become singles IMHO.  Well, I'm sure not going to discount a song - NCOE - that Adam is soooo excited about. The finished NCOE might be perfect for radio, sales, dancing, hookiness, etc. I trust Adam on this. 8-) |

I'd like to add one more thing. Remember when BTIKM was released and we all reacted and felt differently about the song? And then it was concluded that it wasn't ripping off the charts, as expected since it wasn't hittish enough, among other things? If this radio promo showed anything, it's that BTIKM is a beautiful song, firstly, and secondly, what a true artist Adam is, and of an amazing integrity. Yes, he wants to top the charts. But you won't catch him dead singing 'moves like jagger' or 'umbrella-ella-ella' type of shit. If Adele sang BTIKM , it would rip the charts. There's something off-putting to some people seeing a guy being so emotional and wearing his heart upon his sleeve, I think. I don't know what the real reason is, but as Adam said, there's something polarizing about him. The needle of his compass can show either North or South. But to me, as W.H. Auden would say: " He was my North, my South, my East and West, My working week and my Sunday rest My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song; I thought that love would last forever, I was wrong." except that I reserve the right to change it a bit, the 'wrong' is "right" in my world:))) I like what you say here, Aleksandra, but I would like to add my opinion on why Adam's BTIKM isn't busting up the charts right now. In a nutshell, I don't think he is a big enough "popstar" .....yet. His first 2 singles did alright, WWFM got to #13 (Thanks Q), and IIHY topped/charted at #16 ( Thanks to our Music Mavin Mys*&@^#r) It has been almost 2 years since these songs charted, although they do continue to play, but now WWFM is just recently being played with all the hoopla about the new album. We, as fans, live in the Adam/Idol bubble, and it is hard to remember that a whole lot of people 1) never watched Idol 2) listen to top 40 and all the rap/crap 3) jump on anything new from "established" popstars like -----a) Bruno Mars - who actually took many years to make it in radio -----b) Katy Perry - ditto on Bruno above -----c) Kelly Clarkson - who has been at it for 10 years now -----d) Nicki Majah (sorry can't remember her last name) just now blowing up -----e) Chris Brown (God only knows why he is always blowing up) -----f) Beiber - who is the only anomaly here - but he is a teen heartthrob and had Usher's backing. and many others that have been around for quite a while, like Rianna, Beyonce, Usher, etc., etc., etc. When these artists have new music, it automatically gets played, because they have track records and are well known. Adam is really quite new on the pop scene, and it will take some time before his music automatically gets played on top 40. We are all impatient, we see and know his phenominal talent, but not everyone does. Plus, this is where the infamous AMA performance hurt him in America, and being from Idol hurt him in UK. I believe that BTIKM will move up the charts and get played, it may not make it to top 10, but it is a great song, IMO a lot better than a lot of what is played on top 40 Radio. We need to give it some time, and not get discouraged. This is Adam's year to blow up, with this new music, from here on out, it will all be uphill. All this I say with pretty much no intelligence or insight into today's music scene. JMHO. |

Chokehold sounds so Nikka Costa to me. I can see Adam and Nikka singing and dancing with funky moves to this song. Oh yes!!!! And this song is good for any kind of bad relationship. From any viewpoint, male or female!! I can not even tell you all how much I love Chokehold!! And coming from someone who absolutely loves, BTIKM, I am wishing this was the first single, if they wanted to go mid-tempo. I swear, the entire song is a hook! |

CHOKEHOLD IS SOUNDING GOOD!!! :D :D :D Adam's band sounds weird. The song mix is horrible. Can't even hear Kevin or Tommy. I wouldn't worry about the band. I am sure it was just the venue. I LOVE the new songs but yeah, the sound mix is killing me. I really NEED to hear these songs with great quality audio/sound... wah wah wah I am an entitled fan  |

NOW I'm mega-excited. This album is going to kick ass in a very serious way. 80s and 90s vibe in best way. Adam has done it. He da the real thing. It is in his bones and he has manifested in a HUUUGE WAY. Yeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhh Adam. Yeeeeaaaaahhhh Adam band. Yeaaaaaaahhhh universe.
Ps. will not lie. was a little freaked by BTIKM. (Loved the music vid though : )

OMG!! These songs are as good as I hoped/dreamed/imaged.
Cuckoo belongs on worldwide radio NOW!!
And Chokehold is a masterpiece.
Great to get some real ADAM music!!!

ETA: On BTIKM -- IMO it is not really suitable for Top 40 Pop radio -- it is an adult pop song -- so it will do OK but can't rack up the big numbers to be a monster radio hit. I think the radio performance of BTIKM is about the song, not the artist or the screwy promotion. The next single will be a solid pop track and we'll see what happens. If it is Cuckoo, it will be at least a Top 10 hit in the US and Canada. And my money is it will be bigger than WWFM -- and with the focus on radio Adam is doing much bigger than WWFM.
Regarding WWFM -- in the US -- it picked at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100, at #13 on the Billboard Radio chart. A top 10 radio hit in the US is something Adam does not have yet. But WWFM is now a radio standard and has massive lifetime airplay -- even in the US. Sometimes peak position can be deceptive. WWFM was a big hit.

Am I the only person who misses the sound of a saxophone, HeWhoCannot amedet and/or trombone?
I love Chokehold and my husband likes Coocoo. I told you last night if I went to bed, you guys would get your videos. I love watching Adam. He could sing Happy Birthday and I would love it.
I want to hear the album. I hate that the sound of the band was awful. He, of course, was wonderful. I want really great sound behind him to compliment his voice.
I loved watching Mayumi watch Adam as he sang. I smiled through all her pictures. What a cute, lovely woman. Thanks to everyone who goes out of their way for Atop. This place would be nothing without you "givers". Everyone of you: A great big thanks, and a great big hug. You all complete me.
