I found this on a radio website. It is probably very old information, so don't know why they posted now except that Adam is going to that station on Tuedsay...I am still trying to get tickets. Forbes Magazine has compiled the Top 10 former “American Idol” contestants who brought in over $1 million between May 2010 and May 2011. I am really not into comparing idols but I am glad the the number show how much support Adam has. 1. Carrie Underwood – $20 million 2. Chris Daughtry and Adam Lambert – $6 million each 4. Fantasia Barrino – $4 million 5. Jordin Sparks – $3 million 6. Kelly Clarkson – $2.5 million 7. Jennifer Hudson – $2 million 8. Kellie Pickler – $1.8 million 9. Clay Aiken – $1.5 million 10. David Archuleta, David Cook, Katharine McPhee – $1 million each

I love Chokehold more than WWFM and BTIKM, but it's another angsty relationship song, like those two are. If it got released as a single, I could see it doing well on HAC but not so much on Top 40. But of course I know nothing I agree! My viewpoint is that if they wanted an HAC song to reintroduce Adam back to the non stanning public, then why didn't they choose Chokehold. It is beautiful, showcases Adam's voice, and is very hookey! I also think it would have had a great chance of crossing over to CHR. The simple reason is I believe that Chokehold was not finished. The song was not played for any media and the only reason we know anything about it was that Adam described it to Byron Cooke at the first media day. Plus I really think everyone is totally discounting Adam's own professed reason for picking BTIKM which makes perfect sense as an introduction to the concept of the album's duality. I can't think of any other song yet described that would serve to introduce the concept of the album as a whole. If you pay close attention all of the promo has been more geared toward introducing the album rather than pushing a particular single. BTIKM sets up the talking points of the album perfectly so that it gives Adam the opportunity to sell the album concept as a whole. Adam IS more of an album artist than most Pop stars are after all. The same was true during the FYE era as Adam always talked more about the album as a whole than he ever did about any particular single. Regardless of how BTIKM does on radio it has been the perfect vehicle to reintroduce Adam's vocal talent through these intimate performances and provide the perfect talking point for the album itself. As a PR vehicle for this project I think it has been perfect.

My feeling on Chokehold (LOVE this song) is that it would be the type of song that fits very easily into the CHR chart between #20 and #10. It's not going to be a top 10 smash, but it's very modern sounding and would do well. And, of course, it could smash on HAC. Now, though, I don't see it as being a potential single unless Trespassing is very successful and Adam gets maybe 4 singles released. In other words, it's probably a number 3 or 4 single (he will probably have two more uptempo songs out first).
One interesting thing, I rewatched that interview with Lindsey Parker where Chokehold is discussed. And, while she didn't get to hear it she said, "one song that I heard is going to blow people's minds is Chokehold..." So, someone at the label knows what they have in this song and is talking it up to the media---that's a good sign.

Let's hope single #2 does REALLY well so that we get that 3rd single! I am actually hoping for 4 singles.

4 singles is kind of my dream right now. But that second one is going to have to do great. And I think it will, I believe all this radio promo is setting the stage for things.

You CAN say it myspenser and I completely agree. I like it better too! The beginning may be a little OTT for radio (IDK) but the rest would be perfect for CHR! Too late now alas. I'm repeating what I said in yesterday's thread - I loved his look at the Jezebel concert. Completely classy and still VERY MUCH sexy. Question - I see a lot of love for Chokehold here & I love it too. But somehow I don't see it as a Top 40 radio smash. It's hard to judge not having heard the studio version but it just seems too slow & dark to me. For radio I mean - I do love the song. Am I wrong? I love Chokehold more than WWFM and BTIKM, but it's another angsty relationship song, like those two are. If it got released as a single, I could see it doing well on HAC but not so much on Top 40. But of course I know nothing I love Chokehold -- it is my current fav Adam song. We are all just guessing about what the produced track sounds like. The production is a critical factor in determining if it would be relegated to Adult Pop or could appeal to a broader audience. Midtempo songs can be huge hits. But the subject matter -- an angstly relationship is OK but Adam using physical language like this to describe an relationship.... I keep running away running away running away from you but I can't stand breaking the chains breaking the chains breaking the chains oh cause I know the second you go bring it on back bring it on back bring it on back to me
And I know I want your chokehold want you to bring it on back bring it on back bring it on back to me bring it on back to me bring it on backRead more: adamtopia.com/index.cgi?board=daily&action=display&thread=765&page=1#ixzz1ojl1uX7bPlus, Chokehold -- seams to be a play on words for "choke hold" which has an explicit meaning. ...is not the right position for launching this Adam era. He wants to be a mainstream pop star. ---- And NoAngel -- I have to strenuously disagree with your statement -- "But of course I know nothing "
