It looks like the mediabase panel change hasn't happened yet. Maybe playlist changes that occur mid-week bumped Nathanson up. It looks like Nickleback got a good boost, too. Fun is coming up fast and may pass tomorrow. I was shocked to see Nathanson there. But, I also notice Adam has 2 more stations spinning, so this is good! I would say Fun is definitely passing tomorrow. I still say Top 20 for Sunday though! :D Are the remixes on i-Tunes?I don't think so.. I purchased from the link Adam's twitter provided. I assume they will count for singles ??? oh well I'll buy on Itunes too and Amazon if offered...

Then why were some of you saying the move up may have been caused by the remixes? i-Tunes right now: #392 #115

They are, but there are only three songs from The Voice that are ahead of BTIKM. There are always a few temporary songs from some show, but those songs usually cause only a small change on the itunes chart. When you are looking at a song in the 300s and 400s, the sales numbers are pretty low, so a few places up or down doesn't really mean much. If we use Carrie's numbers for comparison, which Brian Mansfield gets every week, the 300-400 songs are selling between 6, 000 and 7,000 a week which is pretty good IMO! So, in four months- BTIKM will sell around 100K. That's not really that great, but it's better than nothing. The point I was making is when a song is selling 6,000-7,000 a week, a move of three places on the itunes chart wouldn't mean a big change in total sales at the end of the week. It could mean that a song sales 6,000 instead of 6,100 for the week. A change of three places, when a song is in this position, is really not worth mentioning. Now, if a single was dropping from #1 to #3 or #4 to #7, the difference could be tens of thousands.

We are currently in the middle of the 13th week of sales, so not four months but just over three. By my very conservative estimates he probably passed 100k last week. That was assuming a couple of weeks at 3k after the last week that was reported which had included a bump from the video release (Edit to fix) performances on Ellen and Leno, and then a mere 5k each for the weeks after that which mys*&@^#'s tracking is showing to be potentially a low estimate. That would have put him at 100k last week.

I thought you were talking about the difference between 300s and 400s not just 3 places. I guess I am confused.

I was referring to the future, as in: if things stay the same, a position of 6-7K a week would take around four months to get an additional 100K or so in sales. 6-7K a week is not optimal for achieving big numbers. It takes too long to add up and most singles don't stay on the charts (even at this position) for three years so that they can reach platinum. Of course, I know there is no way BTIKM will not be at this itunes position for four month. In a couple of months, it will either be much higher on itunes or we will have moved onto single #2. mys*&@^#r: I was talking about referencing the three songs from The Voice or the six songs from GLEE, etc. A change of a few positions isn't going to mean a big difference in numbers.

Sorry, didn't catch that you meant the next four months, I thought you were talking about sales to date. I think the reference to the three songs was in response to me talking about the song holding position up against new music Tuesday and the influx of songs from The Voice and Glee. This was not about sales numbers but just about stability of position.

rihannsu: We won't have to worry about GLEE for a while since it is on hiatus for a few weeks. The Idol downloads don't show up on the itunes charts. ETA: lol Sorry, I corrected it! My fingers automatically went to rihanna. I'm still working on saying Gelly in my head instead of Jelly after all these months of getting it wrong!

Hot 100 Impacted by New On-Demand Songs Chartwww.billboard.com/news/hot-100-impacted-by-new-on-demand-songs-1006453952.story#/news/hot-100-impacted-by-new-on-demand-songs-1006453952.story Billboard, Nielsen and NARM's digitalmusic.org announced today the launch of the first-ever subscription services "On-Demand Songs" chart, and that this data will also be included in the Billboard Hot 100. On-demand streaming data is now factored into the chart's ranking, enhancing a formula that includes digital download track sales and physical singles sales, as tracked by Nielsen SoundScan; as well as radio airplay and other streaming services, as tracked by Nielsen BDS. This new Billboard chart, in coordination with digitalmusic.org's Subscription Music Work Group, and powered by Nielsen BDS, which began tracking streaming activity in 2005, measures every on-demand play request and plays from unlimited listener-controlled radio channels on MOG, Muve Music, Rdio, Rhapsody, Slacker and Spotify; data from Zune and Sony Music Unlimited is expected to be added in the coming weeks. The plays tracked for the On-Demand Songs chart include streams and tethered downloads by both paying and free/trial tier users. Through the first 70 days of 2012, Nielsen BDS has captured more than 4.5. billion audio streams.
...more... we better start seriously streaming BTIKM ....I have a subscription Spotify streaming it at all times... hope it helps a little ....
