I'm whacking too! Since I've been listening to so much pop music in recent weeks trying to win tickets, I've noticed that Kelly's Mr. Know it All is getting so much play now. Is this normal with Stronger getting so much airtime? Yes, because Stronger is the #1 song right now -- so Kelly other song will get a lot of extra airplay. Same thing happened with Katy Perry, Adele, Lady Gaga etc. When it doesn't happen, is when a group is a "one hit wonder". And Kelly has many hits and two #1 radio tracks -- plus a third #1 song on sales from 2002 when no one on radio would play music from a Idol. Times have changed.  Thanks for explaining, Q3. I hope we get to see BTIKM get this treatment when the next single is released and becomes a monster hit. I like pop music a lot and have followed it from the heyday of Nsync and Britney when I was a AOL leader in pop music. |

Then, smacks head, I remembered that MI switched to DST.

Alright, Tobey can be kind of, um, yeah, at times, but I liked this interview that he did with Adam. Said some really nice things. agreed. I liked it, too. Toby is such a fan boy in a good way. He appreciates Adam's artistry and is not shy to say so. He also cares about Adam, the person, being concerned that Adam has his privacy and away time. Having said that, Adam is a master at shaping the interview to fit his agenda, and not getting pulled off track. Also, in keeping it positive and grateful, when he could have agreed with Toby that the paps and fans are a pain. Adam just won't go there. I am sure that there are times that Adam is highly frustrated and even pissed about some of the media, and even some of the fan antics, but, he doesn't air that. That's something I admire about him. We all have challenges in our lives, but, it is how we deal with them and how we "spin" them that makes the difference. Adam said in one recent Q&A that when you are depressed it helps to think of all the good things you have. He doesn't only talk that, he believes it and lives it. He turns things into positivity. The adversity he uses to drive him harder, to find new creativity, to look at what he has and what he can achieve. |

lynne,  Perfectly said and I love your post. I thought Adam was masterful in Toby interview. And TK, I'm never quite sure if he's passive-aggressive or just kind of clueless or somewhere in the middle. I DO think he has a genuine respect for Adam. I DON'T think he knows how to express it and somehow he has decided to engage Adam's fandom, but he comes off like a clumsy guy playing with fire. Sometimes I think he's trying to work us and other times ... IDK – maybe it's that same fear --> fascination --> admiration --> respect --> fear thing he seems to have with Adam. I haven't quite figured it out. Either way, Adam is brilliant in it and I'm glad he was able to touch upon the music industry and how there are many "different" types of artists on radio now (read: stick that in your "politics and formula analysis" BS pipe and smoke it). Play a song because it's fucking good. That's all we ask. Quit force-feeding us crap and telling us it's what we want. Drives me freaking crazy.

It is actually a very interesting question to think through:
If you would be given two rooms to decorate and play out a storyline that demonstrates your own inner dialog, what would it be like? Suggest that you just try that for yourself, not for public consumption, just for self-discovery purposes. It is actually an interesting exercise. Both defining the dialogue or scenes as well as setting up the rooms and decorating them, etc.
And imagining what it would be like if that went public actually shows how brave Adam is by tossing this out into the universe. His heart is truly of gold and his body is glass, he is not kidding.
