Ok, should other Chicago radio promo events have been announced by now? Would RCA have Adam travel to Chicago just for one event at an Adult Contemporary LiteFm station??? I am not necessarily expecting him to visit the KISS station, but he NEEDS to make contact with The Mix which is his best radio fit in the Chicagoland area. I don't get it, unless the station has told RCA they aren't interested.
And while I am semi-ranting about WTMX, that U-MIX-IT is such a cop-out. Of course he needs the spins (and I am whacking as much as anyone); but this station is able to use fans for the obligatory 2 spins/night. They don't even have to put the song in their playlist. I mean, technically they are spinning the song---but they really aren't. For a station that can be kind of snobby, this is really the perfect set-up for them.
Oh, well.

Mmmm the banner pic Didnt someone say smokin hot, sultry and focused yesterday? I agree. What a great description!!! ETA: I am optimistic that some of the bigger HAC stations that have not added BTIKM may come on board soon. I'd be happy with WPLJ New York HAC.

I've been semi keeping track of WPLJ's adds and they are very stingy. I would not expect them to add Adam until he is in top 20. Today, they didn't add anyone! ZERO!!

Are you sure about this? It is awfully close to WWFM. I've seen reviews from music sites and radio that classify it as "mid-tempo", not "down-tempo". ITA, Adam did not invent the good vs evil/light vs dark theme. If Carrie copied Adam, then Adam copied PINK! Carrie just showed up and put on whatever clothes they had for her to wear. I don't think she is a real "deep thinker". BTIKM is 82-83 BPM, WWFM is 92 BPM. For popular compositions mid-tempo is usually at least 90 BPM. But I do not think there is an official definition of mid-tempo. There are many very specific definitions of tempo.Yeah, there are many definitions out there. I had my daughter look it up in her Music Theory book and she asked her college professor. Neither classified 80-90 BPMs as a ballad. It is mid-tempo, but it is on the lower end, especially for Pop radio. If music reviewers and radio stations are generally classifying it as a mid-tempo song, it must fit in that category for them. I agree with you that it is hard to get slower songs played on CHR, but it does happen more often than we might think. I'm expecting the next single to be up-tempo, and that's what Adam keeps sayiing it will be!

Mmmm the banner pic Didnt someone say smokin hot, sultry and focused yesterday? I agree. yeah, that was me. This is not quite the same pic, but very similar, and yeah, Adam is so smokin hot theses days. Was hoping to see some recaps from the peeps that were there today, come on yall! Also, wanted to say that I loved lynne's post from last night's thread, p. 45 or so, everything she said was excellent and spot on. Adam looks so great, and really happy. I loved what he said to Toby Knapp (?) about loving this part of the work, the interviewing and meeting the fans. You can tell that he enjoys it! Espec. these interviews from DC, like is just hanging out talking with friends. Adam, you Rock!!!!!!

Her you go, Mahalia! You are right, too good to be lost at the end of yesterday's thread! I am 100% certain Adam wanted a Bonnie/Ollie Gee song as the lead single. He wrote on those songs, and he feels proud of them. Plus, he would benefit more financially if they hit. I'm pretty sure that he wants one of his own songs to be the next single as well. The label picked BTIKM. He says there are four songs in contention for the next single. One is probably NCOE. He probably thinks that is a good song, but also wants to see if one of his own songs is the best to push for along side that one, and so he decided to perform and play a few of them to feel the audience reaction to them. That would also be information he could take back as a talking point in the decision making process. Like MyS*&@^#r, I don't think Adam changed his dress and style to meet an RCA "safer image" goal. I think he didn't want to box himself into one style or into to having to be over the top in one glittery way for the rest of his career, and that is smart. I also think he is feeling good about how he looks and is enjoying letting that be center just now. However, I do think that Adam lost the lead single battle with BTIKM, or made compromises about it, or let himself be talked into the idea of it as a lead single at the very least. Then, the decision a done deal, I think he jumped on board behind it with all he had to use it as an introduction to the dark and light sides of the album. And he made a kick ass video to breathe more life into the song. Adam is very good at playing the game. Those of us watching idol could see that. Those of us who have followed his every move since then can see how he maximizes opportunities and turns setbacks into the best opportunities he can create. I love this about him. It is that quality, combined with his incredible talent and charisma, that will keep him going and that will continue to bring him success by one path or another. Adam is a risk taker, and though he often says he is impulsive in the moment, I bet when it comes to dealing with RCA, he plans his every move. They may have hold of one of his hands, but I'm pretty sure he stretches the other hand outside of the box as far as he is able, points enthusiastically to all that is out there and lets smiling pied piper light Adam try to take them to places they don't even know they want to go. I hope he succeeds sooner than later. I hope he succeeds with the next single. But for me, and so many other of his fans, he succeeded a long time ago, and living outside of the box with him, musically, momentarily, is an exhilarating trip that leads us (happily) right down the rabbit hole we all (obviously) love so very much.

Is Adam really playing in a 'Dunkin Donuts' lounge? This just tickles me for some reason! ;D

Thanks Mys*&@^#, must admit I was having a hard time finding the right page that it was on. Lynne always seems to have such a good feel for Adam, maybe cause she has raised musicians, and knows how they think, or maybe she's an fellow Aquarian? Here's the pic I thought was smokin hot, sultry, focused:

Great post! On how is choosing his look these days, he may, as he said just be tired of the glitter and spikes. IMO I think he now has the budget to buy what he really likes!! Man I would hate to see those credit card bills ??? He may have on jeans and a t-shirt but....
