* However, the radio stations WILL track likability via requests and tweets

This is my first time posting here. I have been lurking here for months and loved the friendly bantor and comments on this site which is why I finally decided to join. Unfortunately, lately I am seeing a lot of negative comments regarding Adam's band (i.e. Tommy) that have me thinking maybe I shouldn't be a part of this group. This is becoming just like what is going on on Twitter and is very unsettling. I come to this site to read positive comments, not negative. I understand that some people like Kevin more than Tommy and vice versa. I like them both - Kevin as the keyboardist and musical director and Tommy as the guitarist. They are both very talented. They also happen to have different personalities. So what! They are both part of Adam's band and neither deserve any negative comments (i.e. "heavy handed"). I would love to be able to continue to come to this site and read about all of the awesome things that are happening with Adam and read all of the love we have for him. This site is supposed to be all about supporting Adam right?! I hope this site can stay positive and not become another Twitter like forum. Thanks! Personally, I like hearing everyone's opinions, pos or neg or indifferent. We have some pretty informed folks on this blog and most comments are based on professional experience -- especially the ones re tone, key, musicality, etc. Every opinion seems valued and sincere. JMO. |

HSM - Loved your "Highlights" post! Some very interesting things there about the difference between big markets & small ones. But you ARE still going to flesh it out for us right? RIGHT? We'll wait til tomorrow.  I do remember when my husband was in radio (his entire career) the arbitron ratings were the bible. And, as you said, any drop in ratings meant a large drop in advertising. It's dog-eat-dog. Me too. I love hearing all opinions. I'd hate to see opinions become all cookie-cutterish (for lack of a better term).

We can get a little bit defensive with our opinions now and then, but for the most part we do stay positive, so I hope you'll stick around! My thoughts on Tommy and Kevin: I love 'em both, but I'm all about Adam's voice. He could have a row of toy monkeys playing cymbals backing him up, and I'll be happy as long as I can hear THAT VOICE!  |
