cassie, it surprises me because I have carefully watched the release of all the Idols albums, by RCA, in the past year and none have come out the same month. If they do May for Adam and Kris it will just be different and not follow the RCA pattern. I do not mean it would influence Adam's sales at all. No way! However, I actually have had 2 different stans, who work in marketing, say it wouldn't surprise them because it would help with Kris promo. Adam's album would remind people of Kris (maybe.) :-/ Kris is still recording. He might be saying his album is coming out in May, but we know how that goes. His first single is moving slower, much slower, than BTIKM did during the two weeks around Christmas. I could see RCA holding his album for a while because of his single. (or they could not care, and just throw it out there like they did Cooks) Have you seen somewhere that OLFIP is putting an album out in May? The single comes out for i-Tunes 3/26, and has its official adds dates as 3/19 for HAC and 3/27 for CHR. So following the 6-8 week pattern, late May seems probable. And yes, Kris has said May for sometime now. |

Nice article on Adam and gives a bit of insight into what happened yesterday. Lots of speculation on yesterday's thread, but I think folks here had it mostly figured out in the end. Re: German article (I know someone promised a translation, so I am gratefully skipping that step). Had to laugh at both that Sony press release as well as at google.. This Sony team must be somehow full of Bavarians and Austrians. Yes, 'begnadet' is somewhat old-fashioned (Mozart was 'begnadet'), but it is in Austria and southern Germany still significantly more common than in the rest of Germany. Every German will understand that it means 'highly gifted', so it is no problem, just a bit awkward in a pop news release context, but then it is Adam, he never quite fits in, does he. And we love it when he gets wordy in his interviews, don't we, so perhaps his style has somewhat rubbed off on the team supporting him. The google translation then really made me laugh out loud, because just like Cassie it made me think how we fans regularly joked about Adam's huge 'talent' and had plenty of entertainment with that. Seems like Googletranslate is now in on this joke. As far as dates are concerned: We have received from Sony Germany: - many correct dates - many incorrect dates (i.e.WWFM 2012 in this press release) - many confusing dates (German single release, vs digital release, vs radio release, etc) So, here we are being offered May - ish, which is not exactly news, but IF that German date translates into an international one, then April is ruled out. But this is a big IF. They could again be a few weeks apart between US release and German release and the US release could still be end of April. I think the crowd of new album releases is getting bigger and bigger as we get into May and it pushes also towards the end of TV regular season and against end of American Idol season. So Sony US has plenty of incentives to get it out end of April...and perhaps Germany is lagging by a week or two, which would be nothing new or earth-shattering. My bet is still on end of April. Should we start a pool taking guesses? Just for fun? Collect a list of guesses until either 'No Tresspassing day' (3-20-12) or a firm announcement by Sony/RCA, whichever comes first? Which day should we use? Tuesday? So April 17, 24, May 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 as possible choices? |

That was truly painful. Great idea, but.... Don't know what I would have asked if I had found myself skyping with him, either. But, probably would have eked something out about his voice... how he practices, how much, whether he would do an interview just about his voice. Or, I may just have clicked off in embarrassment.
