Welcome Kay! Love the Dairy Queen story. So glad someone “paid it forward for Adam”. What part of the country/world are you located in? It is fun to know from what corners of the earth our members are from. Dairy Queen was my first ever job. Loved the Dilly Bars.
Seoulmate – thank you for the updates on chairity:water. Have been promoting the idea of making a donation with several family members that have birthdays end of March and in April. (Love the cat drinking water – my first call of duty in the morning is from my cat to turn on the water for a morning gulp or two)
Are the all the wonderful limericks from our talented members being collected in anyone spot? Would love to see the collection all together.
It is fun to be able to check in any time of the day or night and find people posting news and information but I am going back to bed now and try to get some sleep. Will lurk some more later.

Finally coming out of "lurkedom" for good (I hope). It was tough keeping up with Adam and studying for exams at the same time but I managed (barely). RL has been compicated lately so I haven't posted in a while but it will hopefully get better soon. I've been flailing, squeeing, etc with all of you though, sometimes when I should be focusing on more important things (more important depending on the perspective, from mine it wasn't important enough sometimes ) Yesterday someone posted this video of a contestant on a portuguese tv show: (He starts singing at around 4:20) I just wanted to give you guys a bit more context on what exactly it is, and what the contestant is supposed to be doing. All 8 contestants are celebrities, some are actors, others singers, this one in particular is a comedian. Every week they have to press a button at the end of the show and the computer selects a random artist they will impersonate the next week. During the week they work with a vocal coach, coreographer (if needed), and one of the judges who helps them understand the way the artist moves and how they behave on stage. The vocal coach helps them trying to sing in the same tone, use the same type of frasing the artist does among other things. Gender is irrelevant, men can play women and women can play men, it has happened to all of them at least once (and it is hillarious when it happens). Then every sunday there's a live show, the judges give them points from 4 to 12 (4 for the worse, 12 for the best), people at home vote, and each of the contestants has 5 points to give to one of the others. After adding all of that the winner for that week is determined and gets a cash prize to donate to a charity of their choice. This contestant is taking the country by storm, no one knew he could sing, not even him. He has had some amazing performances, doing Adam was definitely not his best (I'm not biased or anything : ) but still he won again this week. I had fun looking at the details though he had blue eye contacts, the rings looked very Adam, nails were painted, make up looked like Adam's too, the wig wasn't bad but it looked really weird on him, and the wardrobe was close enough to the video.

'Your background info really helped a lot. I think he did rather well... he actually looked pretty good as Adam. Although-- of course-- no one can even come close... it was still interesting to see him try.

fallenangel! YAY!!!!! Congrats on finishing all your exams, I trust you did well. Welcome back, we've missed you.
Thanks for all the background, it was very puzzling just watching the vid and not understanding what was said. Sounds like a great program, very entertaining, and for good causes.

Speaking of good causes.
What was decided on the charity:water drive? I seem to remember we had extra money after our Leap Day challenge, and were going to do another push on March 20?
Now, Adam has teamed up with Fault Mag for a final push, so what did we decide to do? I think it's fantastic that Adam is doing this, and from what I read, it was a suggestion from a fan at ALF that got it started, then Adam jumped on board with it. Also, thought I heard mention that Adam was lurking at Atop?
Hi Adam!!!! Great job!

blink 182 is an alternative (not indie) "punk" band. they were much more popular in the early 2000s than they are today although they have a pretty loyal fanbase still.
For the person who asked how Adam gets paired with these random people it's like basketball tournaments. Each "team" that wins their division moves on to the next round and is paired with the winner of another division until finally there are only two left to face off.
Adam beat Foster the People and Blink 182 beat Korn. They moved on to face each other. If Adam wins this round he will be up against Panic at the Disco or No Doubt depending on who wins their battle.

I always miss atop so I can't stay away for very long even if I don't post. It's so nice here! The exams didn't go that well but I've actually been looking at other degrees, I've been thinking about changing and the fact that my grades weren't so good only solidified that decision for me.
