Ok, random thoughts on the new songs. I am truly ignorant on the complexities of music but I am pretty blown away by whatever it is that Adam did to create Chokehold, a song about not being able to leave a relationship, AND the beat/rhythm/vocals/melody--whatever it is, makes you feel completely trapped in it. It's like one step forward, one step back. Don't know how to explain it but it is crazy good. And in true Adam style, the song is sexy as hell. Trespassing--This song is pure Adam. He said he was letting us in, and this song is his anthem. Autobiographical. Not crazy about it at the Jesabel concert but LOVE LOVE LOVE it from the showcase. Not sure what makes the difference...Although this song is not even about relationships, in the showcase performance it is purely erotic! It is amazing to me how he can interject so many layers into a song, especially considering how shallow most music is these days. So excited for May-and am totally zen with it, esp with all the scraps he's throwing us. I am not sure how I will be able to take so much goodness in at one time. Maybe Adam know this and isn't trying to kill us with the wait but rather is easing us into it so we don't explode when the final album comes out. YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!! I love what you say about Chokehold, which is my fav of all the songs we've heard so far. I love that moody, edge-of-desperation vibe. My angst-loving heart is going to be very very happy with the Dark side of this album, methinks! |

And LOL about Britney and Adam!
I mean I can understand Adam thinking that she probably didn't know who he is, but Britney thinking the same thing? ;D

Thinking about Adam and Cuckoo.. If Queen could make such a hit with Radio Gaga, wouldn't Adam's Cuckoo be a major radio hit? Kind of silly,dancy and just wonderfully over the top CUCKOO Fun??

My daughter just got two tickets for Adam's promo tomorrow. I am trying to decide whether to fly there. Work is craaaaazy right now. Grades due, a big festival I'm in charge of... But I really want to go with her. How fun would that be? I've never met Adam before. Her good friend works at the radio station there.

As for easing us into the album, hell, I've always been the type to jump in to the cold water, not ease in one toe at a time... please Adam!!! May is good, but stick to it!!! ETA: Also, M asked if I told you all EVERYTHING he said about radio/homophobia/his place and goal in the business (besides personal gratification)--and I didn't...but I will remember to in the final draft. (It's just that he talked for soooo long several times--but even so, I could've listened to him forever.) Really would love to hear more about what he said about this when you guys have a chance to talk and compile all your notes. Also curious about what questions he asked the audience, what did he want more insight into from fans? So glad you had the opportunity to be there and chat :D |
