Maybe I don't hear Bruno in NCOE because I avoided listening to the demo?... to me, it just sounds like Adam. If no one had told me BM wrote it I would never have guessed it.

My daughter just got two tickets for Adam's promo tomorrow. I am trying to decide whether to fly there. Work is craaaaazy right now. Grades due, a big festival I'm in charge of... But I really want to go with her. How fun would that be? I've never met Adam before. Her good friend works at the radio station there. What to do, what to do....  on your daughter being able to get tickets if you manage to attend be sure to have fun lynne. Thanks, Rheimer and all the rest of you who helped me decide to go for it! I am really excited! I have to get up at 4:30 a.m. to make my flight, but I am so energized with the idea of seeing Adam tomorrow and the new songs that I hope I can even sleep! I LOVE trespassing. I think Cuckoo is fun and catchy. I also really like Naked Love. Sexy! Never Close Our Eyes feels the least real to me as someone else mentioned... Bit maybe because I know it is a Bruno Song... Hard to be objective about it, but it feels the least sincere somehow. I still enjoy it well enough, however, and I am sure Adam would slay me with it live. I am going to love this album, and I do believe I am going to have to really watch the speeding even more this time around, LOL! |

Gosh, time for me to weigh in (bantamweight in case anyone's interested and I only think this way on Tuesday nights after watching Biggest Loser--Mark for the win!!!). I have loved Trespassing from the very first spliced-together rendition and now hearing the recorded version (or some of it at least) I love it even more. The clapping and baseline, as Mys*&@^#r noted, make that song and I can't get enough of it. Then there's Cuckoo, and just as Aloha noted, that's the song that sticks in my head. I wake up in the mornings and it's Cuckoo playing in my head. I think the other two songs are great songs too but they take a backseat to Tresspassing and Cuckoo for me because more than anything I want to jam to music. Upbeat songs are my favorites. But when I'm a little more mellow and in the mood for mood music I think my choice would be NCOE over Naked Love. That could change depending on my mood. Tonight's mood is NCOE. One more thing, I keep reading that Trespassing (my personal favorite) might not fit Top40 because it's a novelty song. Damn and double damn, does anyone remember that stupid Fireflies song???? Now that was a novelty song. Please don't characterize Tresspassing the same way!!! The Top 20 right now is FULL of novelty songs!!! It might be the best time, in years, to release a song like Trespassing! And, burrito, missed you! Where you been?! Seriously, I'm addicted to all of them!!!! They are all so good and catchy and fun and ADAM with interesting, complex lyrics, but fun and sexy and catchy as fuck and I TOTALLY don't know which I like most. I DO have a soft spot for "Trespassing" and you're right, burrito, there are TONS of novelty songs on the radio right now that are not nearly as good as "Trespassing." (EEK!! Fireflies!!! I have blocked it out of my mind that Bonnie wrote that so *shhh* don't remind me  ) "Cuckoo" is nuts as well ;D I really like the one I listened to last, best right now. Glad I never listened to the Bruno demo. NCOE doesn't sound much like Bruno to me - I have his album and can't think of any of his songs that are similar to this. His aren't as dancey. I guess I could say it sounds like a melding of Adam/Bruno and I do love both.
I will support whatever they decide to release as the single - and I hope they asked all the PD's and powers that be what will get the most play - that's what I want! Bring it on!

Just to add my two cents....
I really like both Trespassing and Cuckoo, but I would probably have Cuckoo released first just because it's hookier and a little more accessible.
Then ...I would follow with Trespassing because then the world would be prepped for the all sorts of goodness of Trespassing from it's in your face fierceness to the clapping and bass line.
I'm not wild about Naked Love and the BM song. I barely remember them. I say break down the walls with Trespassing and bring in OOL for depth and poignacy. But, who am I? Just a good cracker!
