Maybe I don't hear Bruno in NCOE because I avoided listening to the demo?... to me, it just sounds like Adam. If no one had told me BM wrote it I would never have guessed it. but, but, but....none of Adam-written songs are boring...this one is...like BTIKM... :-[ ....who would've thought that Adam choosing his second single would be so nerve-wracking ;D ... I need to find my zennnnnn.... ;D ;D ;D That's why we're so far apart on this. I LOVE BTIKM. Love it!!! |

Happy No Trespassing Day (Night?) everyone.
Trespassing with Cuckoo as a close second. Trespassing has the added advantage of being the title track. Sell those albums! Big tour bucks!
I played the BTIKM video for my 25 year old daughter. She loved the visuals but called BTIKM another "whiny" song. :-/

Just to add my two cents.... I really like both Trespassing and Cuckoo, but I would probably have Cuckoo released first just because it's hookier and a little more accessible. Then ...I would follow with Trespassing because then the world would be prepped for the all sorts of goodness of Trespassing from it's in your face fierceness to the clapping and bass line. I'm not wild about Naked Love and the BM song. I barely remember them. I say break down the walls with Trespassing and bring in OOL for depth and poignacy. But, who am I? Just a good cracker! LOL! Wish I could say I was just a good burrito but my dog, 3:30, would bark at that. I think you're right that Cuckoo is hookier than Trespassing but Trespassing is so anthemic, so Adam, so in-your-face, soooo what I wish I could shout at my universe, that I hope it becomes a smash. If that means it has to follow a couple of other songs, I'm okay with that. I just want it to smash for him and go down in history. Ya know?  |

It's not so much that this song sounds like Bruno WROTE it--but Adam doesn't change it from how Bruno SANG it. It's like identical (well, without Bruno's desperate-to-reach-the-notes-sound). In fact I am not totally sure Bruno isn't mashed in the chorus there somewhere. Is it just me? |

I listen to Top 40 and NCOE just sounds like more HAC hell to me. Cuckoo sounds like anything David Guetta might put out and Trespassing has an urban flavor to it. Either one of those would fit in on CHR. NL would as well, just the concerns about squeamish PD's. Kind of agree here...NCOE sounds more like what HAC plays here. Also agree with everything else. Personally, I love trespassing, which may absolutely mean it is not the best choice for radio, lol. Naked love sounds like what I hear, but the lyrics might be tricky. I don't even know if I should vote because I am not in the radio demographic, and I want to honestly know which songs people who listen to top 40 who are not super fans like best. In like trespassing so much because it is Adam to me, and I can see him in my mind performing it, so my opinion is not objective enough. How early did you guys who went to promo shows get to the stations? RCA put them on hit predictor. There they will be rated by many, many non-fans as well as fans who put in their age and listening preferences. This is part of the 'scientific' info and testing RCA and other companies do for potential singles. I don't see why these would be on Hit Predictor if the decision about the next single was already made, though like Adam said, it seems to be narrowed to two now. How long do songs usually stay on Hit Predictor? A week? Two? I wonder if they will wait on this data before deciding for sure on the next single? And if it might get tweaked or radio edited at all after that? A fan ripped the snippets off Hit Predictor and another fan created the twitter poll for fun for her feed. It eventually got tweeted to Adam and he retweeted it, and then the snippets. He knows that what he's getting on the twitter poll are the opinions of the favorite song of a very small subset of his committed fans. There is nothing scientific about this, but it is no doubt interesting anecdotal info for him. So I wouldn't stress too much about not having the knowledge to choose the best song for radio play overall -- just go with your gut IMO. I Love them all but voted for Cuckoo. My personal preference right now is Cuckoo=Trespassing, then NCOE, than Naked Love but I really do like all four. \o/ |
