OK, day after still loving the clips. Especially love Trespassing, but don't know if radio is ready for something like this yet.
I still think it's probably a decision between Naked Love and NCOE. I will be happy with whatever gives Adam the best chance for a hit. It's interesting, listening again, Naked Love is VERY processed; almost feels like a remix to me, and I am generally not a huge fan of remixes unless I am in a club. But, it's VERY catchy.

Hey, don't go hatin' on the Grateful Dead ! It took me a long time to understand the appeal of the Dead too. What finally made me take a second look at them was, in fact, the phenomenon of people going to multiple Adam concerts. I had never understood this about the Dead and now I saw it being repeated. (Stuck in my old mindset, I only went to one GNL concert. I won't make that mistake again.) The Dead were about more than just the music. As standalone units, not all the songs seem that great ... any more than, say, Strut will make anybody forget Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring or Nessun Dorma anytime soon. As with Adam, there is a spiritual aspect involved, a deep meaning and intention behind the music that connected with the audience over time. The connection with the audience that they developed over 30 years was extraordinary. The songs are more than just standalone songs, they are full of layers of shared meaning for their fans -- like Eber. My 2 cents.

There was a version of NCOE's that the Popjustice folks heard before the recent recording session with Bruno & before DrLuke. "This should be where the ballad comes in. FUCK THE BALLAD. Let's go straight back in with that ravey 'Never Close Our Eyes' one. That's a hit single however you look at it, so if people haven't been very into the whole Queen-esque Pharrell business this will help sell some albums. We seem to recall Adam saying that Bruno Mars had something to do with this one but he might have been talking about something else. Read more: www.popjustice.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5975&Itemid=206#ixzz1pjF2iu2s"sure would like to hear that version. I think it's the same version. Jordan Meehan, (who writes for ElectroQueer) said he was played the song too, but couldn't say anything about it, since it wasn't finished. He raved about it too. But honestly, I don't see what they are seeing. It's just so forgettable, generic and bad, imho. But everyone is entitled to their opinion so..yeah. Jordan heard the song before Dr Luke. He heard the version produced by Olligee. The same guy who produced Cuckoo.

Ok. I am going to say this outloud. Was hoping it would sound different this morning but...In NCOE-- Adam sounds like he is impersonating Bruno. I want to go back to listen to them sing this song side by side but I am afraid to. I wish I had never heard BM sing it. I still have to work HARD to convince myself that this isn't a duet with BM on the chorus. I really fear this similarity is going to start the haters and BM fans bantering about how Adam is just a want-to-be....Sorry. Had to say it....Hope it is just my ears--I'd rather you all throw things at me than agree.
ETA And I agree, this could actually be a sleeper hit--it certainly sounds like radio to me. But if it is, I fear the accolades wont go to Adam--even from me. Maybe I need to lisen to this a few dozen more times to wash Bruno from my mind...

I think Trespassing is a great song but he's visited this theme before. It's a great theme with a stellar message but for a pop station and summer coming up, maybe too "deep". Cuckoo is just fun and very radio friendly. I think it's great that Adam's songs have meaning but there's not much out there with that kind of depth. Maybe the kids and the clubs just want a beat.
ETA: That being said, Naked Love still gets my vote!

Arrgh! I'm doing the Hit Predictor thing right now and after twenty-five minutes I still haven't been given an Adam song to rate. How long does this thing go on?
I had actually forgotten that I was registered at Hit Predictor, and was going to register when on a whim I decided to check My Super Secret Hope It Never Gets Stolen List of Passwords, and there it was. But I'm about to go crazy listening to these songs. Is there a way to skip all the songs except the one I want to rate? I guess that wouldn't be a good idea because then they'd know I was only focused on one artist.
