Juniemoon--that queen clarification is fucking brilliant! Thanks for the laugh! Don't get too upset, folks, about the EW thing, though. I logged on and, reading backwards, saw the reaction before I saw the page itself and I must say I was totally relieved in a "oh, that's all?" way. I was worried it was going to be some kind of advanced album preview but no, they're way behind the times. Even fans have had mixed responses to BTIKM (although everyone agrees it's beautifully sung and the video kicks ass), and I think that even the many (majority) of fans who love the song think of it as RCA's "safe" choice for a first single. How ever much we may love the song, we all know that this isn't Adam at his mojo-iest! And we also know, lucky us, that our boy has some SERIOUS mojo workin' on Trespassing (the album, and the song). Poor old EW clearly don't know what's about to hit'em! If they thought old Adam had Mojo, wait till they hear new Adam! Ha ha I wanna see them try to resist wiggling their asses to Trespassing, and just wait till they (and we!!!!!) hear SHADY (i'm sure)! No bitterness here. Just smug superiority! ;D edited 'cause my spelling's for shit

The weird thing is that www.ew.com is just fine towards Adam (for example this: www.ew.com/ew/gallery/0,,20312226_20576542,00.html#21130174 and this: www.ew.com/ew/gallery/0,,20312226_20576542,00.html#21130146) but the magazine has been less than appreciative lately. Maybe they have different people writing in the web and in the magazine... EW is definitely not homophobic as a publication, IMO. There may be a music reporter there who is not in Adam's camp yet. I'm hoping Trespassing will change that! ??? It never even crossed my mind that they were homophobic. I just think the current resident Idolbert is NOT a fan of Adam's. Yes, I meant that sometimes when there are multiple less than nice remarks of Adam in any publication, in radio etc. this is one of the thoughts that sort of automatically comes to mind. I was merely "writing my thoughts out loud", and came to the conclusion that this time it's probably not about that but something else - the journalist not being a fan. The writer of the article was different person than who has done some of the Idol slide shows that have been very positive towards Adam, and also the Idol recapper is someone else. (Yes, I subscribe EW and hang out on their website. Less these days because I am always here now... ;D )

www.afterelton.com/content/2012/03/adam-lambert-gives-us-sneak-peek-trespassingAdam Lambert Gives Us a Sneak Peek at "Trespassing" Last week I had the pleasure of being among a group of gay journalists invited to spend an hour with glamazon Adam Lambert and listen to a few tracks from his new album, Trespassing. Unable to resist the chance to meet the gay pop firebrand whose meteoric rise to fame I happened to actually cover right on these very pages during American Idol Season 8 (not to mention the promise of an open bar and bottomless spring rolls), I was more than game. Adam was whisked away to DJ a set of songs from his new album, which was pushed back from its original March date to "Mapril". The title track, "Trespassing", produced by Pharell Williams, is a funk-driven track that took me completely by surprise in the wake of the album's first single, the more emo-adjacent power ballad "Better Than I Know Myself". The track reminded me a bit of when Queen released "Another One Bites the Dust" and confused the heck out of rock critics, radio DJs and listeners everywhere. It seems to me that Adam might be looking to shake up expectations as well. (To hear snippets of "Trespassing" and a few other tracks from the album, check out Wednesday's Morning Meme.) Later, Adam played "Shady" for us - a track about going out and getting a little somethin' somethin' that he co-wrote with out pop performer Sam Sparro. It's a dancy, upbeat track about nasty things - a contrast to some of the more stripped-down and somber songs on the album that are earnest discussions of love, communication ("Broken English"), and even navigating gay romance ("Outlaws of Love"). Adam took a moment between songs to pause and point out, "This is for us, it's for our community." But Adam's primary goal on this night was clearly to get people moving, and he spent much of the evening cuing up tracks, hollering for "More bass!" and urging everyone to dance. From the sounds of what I heard, Mapril showers are going to bring plenty of dancefloor goodness for Adam's fans. more

I'm hoping Trespassing will change that! Well I can't get too upset.. its not exactly the strongest song. I enjoy it, but I think it would have made a better album cut or bonus track. ETA: HOW did the "We are Young" song come up in conversation? I think is a weak single. These a bit of a discussion about Nathan Ruess lead singer of FUN in the vocal masterclass thread because a month or so ago Rolling Stone also made the comparison. The single "we are young" is #1 here in Australia and played ad nauseum on radio...
