Juniemoon--that queen clarification is fucking brilliant! Thanks for the laugh! Don't get too upset, folks, about the EW thing, though. I logged on and, reading backwards, saw the reaction before I saw the page itself and I must say I was totally relieved in a "oh, that's all?" way. I was worried it was going to be some kind of advanced album preview but no, they're way behind the times. Even fans have had mixed responses to BTIKM (although everyone agrees it's beautifully sung and the video kicks ass), and I think that even the many (majority) of fans who love the song think of it as RCA's "safe" choice for a first single. How ever much we may love the song, we all know that this isn't Adam at his mojo-iest! And we also know, lucky us, that our boy has some SERIOUS mojo workin' on Trespassing (the album, and the song). Poor old EW clearly don't know what's about to hit'em! If they thought old Adam had Mojo, wait till they hear new Adam! Ha ha I wanna see them try to resist wiggling their asses to Trespassing, and just wait till they (and we!!!!!) hear SHADY (i'm sure)! No bitterness here. Just smug superiority! ;D edited 'cause my spelling's for shit  I got my mail and my EW copy. The article is actually about "the latest post-Idol projects of some of your favorites". It's about the latest singles of each singer in it, and it seems that the "grade" is about the single, not about the person or career in general. The tone is a little snarky across the article. Adam's section doesn't stand out that much. But they did say for Lauren Alaina that she is opening for Jason Aldean (whoever that is) that she will be opening for him on tour. Would have been nice to see the Queen reference for Adam. I haven't heard a single one of the other songs in the article (even Haley's song is on my to-do list), so I can't say how BTIKM compares to them. It will be interesting to see what will eventually be said about the next Adam single and the album. |

Thanks, gelly, and thanks for the Fun. clip too--I enjoyed it a lot. You know, one last thought on this Fun. thing. Thinking about it, I actually find it pretty exciting that when two of the biggest entertainment magazines in the country (Rolling Stone and EW) chose to write about the hottest group in the country at this second (Fun.--they really do seem to be everywhere right now)--a group with a very talented, mojo-rich singer at their head--the first person they think of to compare him to is Adam Lambert. I think that's great. So they're a little confused about their relative merits and need some correcting --that's okay. They'll learn . People make comparisons they think are relevant, and it's great that they've made this connection. Hell, this is Fun.'s moment--Adam's a bigger deal and when his album comes out it'll be a bigger deal and I'm confident he'll be widely celebrated--but I'm glad they're thinking of him in this context. Talk about escaping the AI bubble. oh and lynne:  . |

gelly, I hate FUN. Their We Are Young video is driving me crazy.  I have to suffer through it every day when I watch the MMTop20 countdown because of BTIKM. Thank you very, very much to all Atopians who posted their wonderful recaps!!! I can leave my dream of meeting Adam through your words. |

gelly, I hate FUN. Their We Are Young video is driving me crazy. I have to suffer through it every day when I watch the MMTop20 countdown because of BTIKM.
