NoAngel interesting writeup on Compromise. I have worried about Adam having to make those hard choices ,but lately I have come to the conclusion that Adam can sing any type of music and probably will at one time or another. He seems to move between all musical genres with total ease.Just as fast as he fits himself into one mode he can take himself out and on to another. Right now his love is for POP.Part of this ability is the actor in Adam.. So I think it's not about compromising ,but about assuming another transformation. That's part of his allure,he magically transcends.
I expect that after the Queen concerts,folks will try to put Adam into the rock mode, and some will be disappointed in his pop songs and so it goes. Wait until he does Musical theater and a bit of Opera ,I see it coming in the future. Adam is a musical chameleon,with a mega talent to back him.He was able to show those different sides of him on Idol week after week,going from rock to pop ,to soul,etc. That's what makes him so exciting.When you get Adam you get diversity. I think in a way, that's his trouble with radio,they can't fit him into a neat little box and identify him,he's too complex and keeps changing it up.
For me ,I love the evolving,can't pin him down ,mega talented ,no compromising,just showing the many sides of himself man.
So I continue to buckle up for the transitional mind blowing ride.

I think you are right gelly14 - I knew you would recognize the outfit !! I'd already fallen in love with the unmic'ed, stool dancing, Cockoo snippet from the show (hopefully a full length one surfaces soon) and the Q&A's were so fresh, but this photo is so special We got it just now! NoAngel, I always love reading your perspectives and this one was really interesting as well. I'm not sure that I think in terms of compromise where Adam is concerned or in life in general. I see things more from the point of view of integrity or lack of integrity around principles or beliefs that are core to us. That define us. The rest is more surface stuff. So, for example, Adam being less glitter and glamtastic doesn't affect anything fundamental at all. I could never see this in terms of compromising anything regarding a more toned down version of himself being appropriate for mainstream pop.
At a personal level, Adam has displayed breathtaking integrity. I found his comments recently that using same-sex images in his videos to prove a point isn't worth the cost very interesting. And I don't see it as a compromise either, because his integrity remains unaffected by continuing to be honest about who he is.
In his music, his integrity is centred around making music that has meaning to him, with themes that resonate to "his community" but also universally, that he has invested himself in, and that he feels he can give 100% to when he is performing it. The genre to me isn't what it about. If he made sloppy music, half-heartedly, with simply $$$$ in his sight, no matter what the genre, then that would truly be a "compromise".
So at one level, I don't think he's really having to make hard choices because those choices he is making aren't centred around paying any price around his fundamental integrity.
On another topic, I feel so spoilt by these promo "jewels" that we've been getting every day. I was watching the latest cuckoo from the previous page and strikes me every time is how truly generous Adam is with his voice. He gives more than I've ever seen from any other performer at these types of events. That is partly why he fascinates me so much because to me that is real love and respect for an audience.

Was wondering if this will be the next single, so many things hint into the direction of Cuckoo. Maybe you have already discussed this, haven't had time to go through all the discussions, cause so much going on in Adamland and RL. But it surely hints that way, according to what I have seen and read the strongest candidates seem to be Cuckoo and second Trespassing. Thoughts?
