I beg to disagree but (give me some slack here) I'm TIRED of mid-tempo songs. I want an Adam-written song. Yes, I do love chokehold but I want a kick-ass summer party song. Lord, I need to get out of my mid-tempo fog. Give us something fun and dancey. I want to plan my outfit for the tour. Since glitter is out what's next? As Adam said I'm excited about my outfit. What is the outfit? 8-) Except the studio NCOE is not mid tempo . Yeah, it's actually pretty up-tempo, right? (high bpms?) Maybe Iluvfun means she prefers a more upBEAT song, as in message/attitude? or more ADAM-ish? I kind of agree... But NCOE would sound fiiiiiiine on the radio, too, so I just hope Adam gets whatever he wants. As I always do! |

UGH!!!I was just looking at that Musical March Madness!!!  :-/  Adam won against Blink 182 and will be going against Panic at the Disco this week! If he wins, guess who he will be going against??? Durbs!!!! No wonder Durbs fans were voting against him. This could get ugly! Wouldn't count Green Day out too soon. If I remember correctly their fans usually vote very heavily in these March Madness things. |

Adam has a very strong and supple external jugular vein - among other assets!
This is what you see when he is singing. He's flexing his vocal and neck muscles; and feeding them with his life's blood. It's okay! He is definitely not straining. His breath control and vocal calisthenics boggle my mind! Lifting his vocal weight is entirely within his strength. We are watching the best in the Universe, watching Adam.

That version of NCOE is definitely NOT a mid-tempo song. Count the beats. It comes out to 144 beats per minute. That is faster than the typical club/dance beat of 130-133 BPM. I think what people are responding to is the musical arrangement, the clear voice, the legato or long lines, and the emotional lyrics. They may resemble a ballad, but, the beat definitely is not, at least in this acoustic version. It moves!
Having said that, and having praised his performance today, I have not immediately downloaded the mp3. I think that says that I am not enamored with the song itself.
