That version of NCOE is definitely NOT a mid-tempo song. Count the beats. It comes out to 144 beats per minute. That is faster than the typical club/dance beat of 130-133 BPM. I think what people are responding to is the musical arrangement, the clear voice, the legato or long lines, and the emotional lyrics. They may resemble a ballad, but, the beat definitely is not, at least in this acoustic version. It moves! Having said that, and having praised his performance today, I have not immediately downloaded the mp3. I think that says that I am not enamored with the song itself. TY...

well smokey...I am with you... listened to the sound check snippet and can't bring myself to listen to the performance now... I am afraid I'll be jumping off the edge without hesitation actually if the NCOE is the next single...... one boring song after another... totally misrepresenting Adam to the world...it will be disastrous IMO... WWFM...BTIKM... NCOE... getting worse as we go... Adam said that the label's opinion and fan's preferences are not the same... THAT sentiment got me ONTO THE EDGE... I did not see any discussion here re that particular statement.... but to me he was saying: you guys like TP and CC, but label wants NCOE... ..they are killing his spirit... I do not think RCA has the power to "kill Adam's spirit". And if they had decided to release NCOE they would not be testing 4 songs. In any case, I recommend listening to the acoustic performance of NCOE -- it is a really fine song. No matter what happens for single #2, Cuckoo is going to be released as a single on 5/15/12 and it will get club play. The only question is what single will be promoted to pop radio. ETA: I believe that Adam made the comment about the label and fans not always agreeing in the Amazon Q&A in Seattle 3.24.12. When you say this comment, you mean, clubs will be free to play at will, because the album will be released right? And not as RCA specifically releasing something to a club chart for play or something like that?

Except the studio NCOE is not mid tempo . Yeah, it's actually pretty up-tempo, right? (high bpms?) Maybe Iluvfun means she prefers a more upBEAT song, as in message/attitude? or more ADAM-ish? I kind of agree... But NCOE would sound fiiiiiiine on the radio, too, so I just hope Adam gets whatever he wants. As I always do! I read somewhere that NCOE has the highest bpms? Of all four songs. Is this correct? It is an uptempo dance song really. It is a very good song but I have no idea how it will do on radio, I thought BTIKM would be a big hit.

Don't think I saw this mentioned here but for those who may not be on twitter Sutan lost his father today. He had tweeted in the last week or so that his dad was not well. For any who may want to send a message his twitter is @sutanamrull and his website is www.artofraja.com/mainmenu.html

[tiredly drags ass onto thread carrying lolly bucket] [sets out some karmic kremes] [pops on in own mouth] [pauses, then puts out a couple valium lollies next to them] ;D Gotta say, NCOE was my least fav to start with, but Adam definitely kicked ass with it! 8-) So glad all you Portland peeps had a good time!

Why are so many people so negative about NCOE? NCOE is a fun song with a great hook and a great bridge, and it has Bruno's name attached to it, which is good! Also, Adam just proved that he will kill it live. I'd go so far as to say that ncoe is a no-brainer as a second single in the US. idk about the UK as I don't live there. I think that everyone just have different opinions and tastes. Yeah, I know I've been very vocal about this on twitter and what not, but IMO NCOE sucks, sorry, it just seems really bland, plain, very milquetoast, nothing remarkable about it. It just seems to just stay pretty one note, and besides the chorus and prechorus, there's nothing in the verses to hold you. Just seems like one of those classic songs that you will skip when you hear the first few notes, or verses.

I'm going to regret not running away again like I did a while ago after reading some of the posts tonight, but WTF? What am I not getting? Adam looked stunning and sang a gorgeous song. That's it! I would think people would be dancing for joy. To me, Adam's spirit hasn't looked better. I would imagine he's proud of all his songs whether he wrote them or not. Yes, fans preferences may not be what the label wants, but what are fan preferences? I don't think there's one fan preference that stands out. We all love Adam, but we're not one voice on song preferences. Shockingly (to me), a majority of people chose WWFM tonight over new songs! For that matter, do we even know what the label wants at this point? We're making giant leaps and assumptions. This album is going to be amazing with something for everyone. The snippets have received great reviews. His talent will win out. YES YES YES

[snicker] Yeah, but "I - I love ya like a love song baby" "I - I love ya like a love song baby" "I - I love ya like a love song baby" "And my heart goes beat-beat-beat-beat-beat" has done pretty well in the one-note department! Just say'n. ;D At least NCOE has more words. [teases] Honestly, I want Trespassing more than I can say for the next single, but NCOE has grown on me. #teamanythingbetterthanNakedLove.

It seems there's been a number of losses among the GNT Glamily over the last few years. Never easy.
