... wait...do you want the responsibility of watching sixteen excited 4 year olds, all running around, yourself? I''d rather get a few more pizzas and have their parents deal with them.... as long as it is not in your house/apartment and the time for the party is limited - you'll be OK. It is hell regardless of where you have it, but at this age parents are a VERY necessary evil...seriously. I'm back. Sorry - was pulling half-melted Play-Doh creations out of the sink. Yeah - that's pretty much it. This is a group of 3 going on 4 year-olds. They're considered old enough to go to a birthday party, but not old enough to really control themselves. They're generally ok, but huge bursts of tears occur if they get the wrong color frosting or if a balloon pops, or someone doesn't take turns "right". With the occasional kid who still wants to poke something into the nearest electrical outlet "to see what happens". Better to let each own parent keep an eye (and grip) on their own offspring than to handle that many on your own. At least for this year. Though it surprises me that BOTH parents always seem to come along for this group. Just got off the phone with another parent and she said she started kicking the parents out during the 6-year old parties.... I realize I jumping in the middle ;D ;D ;D so you can ignore me and my feeling wont be hurt. I read once that the standard rule of thumb for parties is to invite the same number of guests as the child is old. 3 yrs old... three guests.

LOL, I'm glad those days are far behind me. I've noticed that it seems like it's the norm now that an invite to a party includes the parents too. When did that start? When my kids were that age not all the adults hung out. I'd be on the hunt for a party location.... bowling anyone? ;D ;D Awwww...I wish I had those days back. I'm in the middle of the preparations for my daughter's high school graduation and then she's off to college. :( I remember those birthday parties. DD went to a small school in the K-6th grade and the parents went to all the parties. I knew the parents, grandparents, and the siblings of all her classmates. By the sixth grade, we were all like one, big family. My daughter and I both made lifelong friends during those years. The girls in the sixth grade class (and all their parents) had a reunion during the Christmas break, before they all head off to college. There is something special about those relationships that were formed during the time our children were so young and innocent. A time will come (much too soon) when the kids won't want their parents ANYWHERE NEAR one of their parties. Your child's friends will start driving and then your child will start driving, and you will be lucky if you even know the parents of all the kids they go places with. I suffered through Chucky Cheese hell and lived to tell about it. LOL Believe it or not, one day you may look back longingly at those silly parties! It all passes much too fast! Aww, tigerlily, now I'm half laughing, half crying!! I was just muttering under my breath, trying to get pink and purple melted goo out from under my fingernails with a toothpick that was previously (I think) a porcupine quill (they're learning about woodland animals this week) when I read your post. And then I just about melted too. She's my only kid, and will probably be my only kid, and this really *is* an awesome age. I really need to appreciate that more. Thx for the reminder.

Adam's tweet bloopers are adorable.... and talking of a Whoops moment... stumbled on this vid... didn't they do the same thing in 2000 with George Bush and instead of conceding that he actually lost he took their mistake all the way to the supreme court LOL

When my daughter was 8 I had a party for her at Pizza Hut. There were 12 kids. The parents dutifully dropped their darlings off at Pizza Hut. My Ex (husband at the time) told me he needed to stop to pick something up and would meet us there. 12 running/sreaming kids, threats to kick us all out of Pizza Hut if I couldn't get control of the situation and a deliquent hubby who arrive an HOUR later!
My daughter thought that was the BEST party ever. Yeah, it was worth it. DD called me this evening to say can you believe it? I'm going to be 24 this year. They do grow up way too fast.

Finally got the Jingle Ball to download and found that I already had it from somewhere.
I think those pants belong on Idol this Thursday. The whole outfit looked really smart, casual and hot!
