I do understand that emotions have kind of gotten away from us lately in this thread, *pleads GUILTY*, but I would hate to see no analysis, no commentary & no opinions (including opinions laced with a little emotion). :D [laughs] This thread would be way boring if it had no analysis, commentary, or opinions!! ;D ;D However, as y'all know, we've been veering way off the usual Numbers path lately and this thread has been the place for more "bitch sessions" than actual numbers analysis more often than not. Stardust and I would just like to see a greater proportion of posts based on active numbers versus general venting.  I support this slight course correction greatly ;D. Personally I do really understand the need to occasionally vent or ask for reassurance. Other posters might be willing to cheer you up or they might not. However sometimes when I'm not sure if I'm beating the same point into the ground too much I use the search and look back at my last few weeks of posts to make sure I'm not repeating myself (except for being a PIA about requesting daily). This can be illuminating. ------- On topic, it looks like the Radio Sophie switch could effect the songs around BTIKM similarly and therefore not effect it's chart position much. Mayer's Shadow Days got 28 spins last week, BTIKM 31 spins. It's hard to tell though because I can't tell with Matt Nathanson's song and Nickleback's Lullaby. |

KSCF San Diego was one of the top spinners of BTIKM. @33 spins per week. Shame.
As far as requesting daily I admit I am going to stop requesting at WAEB (CHR) except for 8@8 (played it last night #4). They are simply not playing it anymore. I think taking a breather & then hitting hard IF they add the new single is better than beating a dead horse here. The song is still alive at the 3 other CHR PA stations.

Trying to learn...what's the reason stations are added or dropped from mediabase? I know KSCF changed their format so moved to CHR. But what is the criteria for a station to be monitored & why would MB add or drop stations?

I don't know either, but I would guess that they are stations with a small market or AI. If a small market station spun a song a lot, it could skew the chart with high spins but low AI. My best guess. |
