I am totally in denial about this. Nope, just won't accept it. Okay, Sonisphere is canceled. But, the world wants to see Queen and Adam Lambert. I am going into full Pollyanna mode and saying that Queen and Adam have incredible momentum built up about this show, and some promoter will step in and run with it. Maybe an exclusive gig instead of part of a festival? Maybe in the US? When one door closes another opens. Or, hell, open a window. This match is just too juicy not to see the light of day in a big way. Moscow? Yes. But, I believe SOMEONE will take advantage of the interest to book something else spectacular. Yes, yes yes!! This is my hope too! I was feeling down earlier about, for Adam and especially to the fans that were flying out there. But I'm hoping that they'll announce something with just them. If the concert in Russia is selling really well, maybe they can use that also as an incentive to be booked somewhere else in the UK. The tickets will probably sell faster as it will probably be cheaper than the Sonisphere festival tickets. That guy who was the head of the Sonisphere festival was so excited about having Queen with Adam there. Just really hoping that they do another concert. It's 3 months out. I hope something is announced soon...

Still can't quite believe this happened :( Even though I wasn't going I was pretty excited about it. I also have trouble accepting the "not enough ticket sales" thing. How is that possible with 3 months to go and bands that have such big fandoms? Yeah, this does seems weird. All those bands have huge, HUGE fanbases.

Can't believe this is happening! It's so wrong, since it was going to be the first time I was going to see, or at least hear Adam live, and see him from a big screen as he would've been too far for me to actually see him... :D Joking is my defense!

Been reading the Sonisphere forum:\ www.sonisphereforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11411&start=175talk about not enough ticket sales, someone said only 5K tickets sold. Also, competition from another concert featuring "download" Never heard of them. Some peeps wanting to show up at Knebworth for a 3 day drunk party. Very interesting, but still couldn't find the whole quote from the Queen site. Looks pretty real to me. sadzzzzzzzz

What they really mean is that ticket sales weren't covering expenses. Probably their loan got called in and they couldn't make it [ETA or the lender refused to extend additional credit]. Has credit tightened up a lot in the UK the way it has over here? I should have known from living in Austin how flaky music festival organizers could be, but this festival was so big and huge and well-established (I thought) and the acts so enormous and popular, that I never thought in a million years about this happening. WAH.

They announced their setlist way before Sonisphere and ticket sales as well I think. That was tough competition :S When Sonisphere announced their acts a lot of people had already bought tickets for Download and couldn't go to Sonisphere instead.

I just voted, and with my usual magic touch, manage to knock Adam down several percentage points. :-/

It sounds like they are cancelling the entire festival ie every country. I agree though that it doesn't mean the show won't go on. Queen + Adam Lambert are still going to Moscow and may still do more shows. Just not that one. They may still do a show on that same day.
