Yeah, this does seems weird. All those bands have huge, HUGE fanbases. What they really mean is that ticket sales weren't covering expenses. Probably their loan got called in and they couldn't make it. Has credit tightened up a lot in the UK the way it has over here? I should have known from living in Austin how flaky music festival organizers could be, but this festival was so big and huge and well-established (I thought) and the acts so enormous and popular, that I never thought in a million years about this happening. WAH. looks like this Sonisphere festival in its 4th or 5th year? from the blog, peeps saying they don't think it will come back if it is cancelled this year. Sounds like a huge event, and several cities in Europe as well. Is the whole series cancelled or just Knebworth? Has Adam responded on twitter yet? and, I asked this earlier, is twitter blowing up over this?

Oh no, I just read the news about Sonisphere! So sad for all of you who wanted to go there and of course for Adam and Queen! ... to you all!

No message from Adam on Twitter yet. Maybe he's waiting to talk with Brian and Roger to see if something else can be worked out. Fingers crossed!

I am totally in denial about this. Nope, just won't accept it. Okay, Sonisphere is canceled. But, the world wants to see Queen and Adam Lambert. I am going into full Pollyanna mode and saying that Queen and Adam have incredible momentum built up about this show, and some promoter will step in and run with it. Maybe an exclusive gig instead of part of a festival? Maybe in the US? When one door closes another opens. Or, hell, open a window. This match is just too juicy not to see the light of day in a big way. Moscow? Yes. But, I believe SOMEONE will take advantage of the interest to book something else spectacular. BOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I never even considered that this cancellation would happen. I just mailed my credit card bill for $2,100. this morning. Glad we held off on plane tics. Don't think I can do Moscow...even if it's still on. BOOOOOOOHOOOOO!

You all should be able to get refunds from your credit card companies for the festival tickets, if the festival itself doesn't refund. Most non-refundable airfares will let you rebook for a different destination. That is not the same as non-refiundable. :-/
