Wow! So surprised and sorry about the cancellation. :(.
The entertainment industry is a roller coaster; there have been so many times, for example, when my husband scored a great sounding movie that ended up folding... Or my son had his song on a record, then not on, then on as a bonus track etc...
Our motto around my household is that nothing is ever a sure job until you are doing it, and even then sometimes the rug gets yanked out from beneath your feet. That is just the way things are, and people in the industry need to be resilient, as I believe Adam is.
The good thing, though, for really talented, charismatic, driven people like Adam, is that eventually things come up that HAPPEN, sometimes in unexpected ways.
My husband remembers a friend telling him that he was working on a little low budget movie for hardly anything, and then that movie turned into "The Artist.".
Adam will have his "artist" moments. He has had some already, and he will have more in the future.
Hopefully in the near future.
My freedom story is not so lovely as Sugar's; thanks for that story!
At 8, my daughter captured a grasshopper which she put in a jar and carried around with her all afternoon until it came to my notice. I talked with her at some length about freedom and rights and quality of life and unselfishness, heart to heart, and she finally agreed to let it go. I thrilled at the humanitarian nature of my daughter's heart, proud of
the valuable lesson I was teaching her.
We took the imprisoned grasshopper out to the front grass where my daughter tearfully set it free. No more than five seconds later, the neighbor's cat sprung out from behind us and
pounced on that grasshopper, finishing off his life in the wide open world and ending it in front of our bemused eyes.
The lesson I thought I would give her turned into a different lesson entirely. Later on as a teenager, as I gave her more and more freedom to fly on her own, as she left our house I would advise her to avoid the cats.
. She got it.
Everything in life is a learning experience, and sometimes disappointments and challenges
that present like setbacks turn out to work perfectly in different ways with the perspective of time.
Adam seems to have the gift of understanding all of that and of even turning setbacks into opportunities. The future is bright with opportunities for Adam, and I am so excited to see them play out, and to be a part of them when I can be.
Hugs to all who had exciting concert and get together plans... I love the spirit behind your decision to go, and that spirit- which some have discovered and rediscovered here with Adam, is one that will keep impacting your lives far beyond July.
