I was trying to follow all the discusion about the "phrase". Watching this YT, Adam's not even intentionally cursing. He answered a question about how's his Finish and that's one of a few words or phrase that he can say or understand. |

Tonight I heard on MTV news a foreign sportsman using 'perkele' and meaning it (a traditional curse word in Finnish, maybe the kind that used in a proper context with some emotion would sound like a curse for foreign listeners too). I guess he was a rally driver, his car had just broken and a Finnish tv channel was asking him what does he think about the incident. I assume that he has a Finnish driver in his team. I am sure that his comment, which consisted only that one word, will not be in the headlines tomorrow with advice to wash his mouth with soap.
(Sorry that this is a bit vague because I was doing other things and cannot verify who this was and what had happened because I don't have a new version of Silverlight installed that is necessary watching the programme from their site. MTV3 news, sports, sometime after 22.20.)

I'm glad you said this and I totally agree. All of this fuss because he said one line in finnish that was a couple of cuss words. I mean, who the fuck cares and for the ones that do care, WHY the fuck do they care?? I don't understand the big deal. It was an innocent conversation we were having yesterday and Adam didn't do anything wrong. This just irritates the hell out of me. I feel like taking down my video, but won't do any good since everyone has seen it now. Whoever is making a big deal out of this needs to get a life and move the fuck on! This is aimed at no one, just venting myself and trying to figure why people care about something so insignificant. I have been amused all afternoon. Each time I check in we have a couple more pages of women, largely between the ages of 35 and 70, talking about the word FUCK. I don't see anyone getting their panties in a wad over it, but the differences of perception are interesting. Adam sure gives us lots of things to talk about. I think, actually, the opinions about the Melvin, the poncho and the hair extensions were much stronger. |

I feel like saying something about this Finngate. I don't see why this has to be a big deal. Adam said a couple of curse words in Finnish. In a language that is not understood in America. In an interview that was in American radio station. It is widely going through the internet, but so are millions of other videos, holding loads more of cussing than Adam. Adam did it in a foreign language that is understood by like less than 10 million people in the world. He said it as he'd learned it, like words all together, barely understandable to a native Finn. If you don't want your youth using the f word, I don't think Adam made it easier for them, he made it easier for them to use the vittutätäpaskaa word. But then again, he's used the word fuck before, why are you so worried? Is it really due to the musicians to teach your kids what words they can use? Maybe it is, but when taught another language it still is the most common taught stuff to tell the curse words. I've learned them from a sixty year old woman teaching german to a forty year old hairy Venezuelan guy teaching Spanish. I think that cussing is a part of our culture all around the world and it will not be stopped by our amazing AFL. If you have a problem with us Glamberts getting excited about him saying that or tweeting that all around the world, then address us, not Adam. Or the societies we all live in which do seem to encourage cussing, if we believe the youth or our nations. Again, these are just my thoughts, not meant to hurt anyone or to insult you.
