At 3:12AM PT Adam Lambert took to Twitter to clear up some misinformation about his new single. Apparently he saw some April Fools’ Twitter fun and thought it was real. He immediately responded with three tweets. Within minutes he deleted the Tweets but not before some ninjas grabbed the screen:





The reporter has learned exclusively that Adam have been traveling around the country with some bogus tracks just so he can blow people away when his album is released in May. So here is what we now know:

Contrary to rumors – traced to David Archelette fans – “Greensleeves” is NOT Adam’s next single. Adam has confirmed that he is not even familiar with this song. When asked about the song at a M&G, Adam said, “Is that done by Green Day?”

Adam was set on filling this album with surprise tracks and created an elaborate ruse to keep his new music secret. He was very surprised when fans and DJs liked the fake tracks. RCA is now racing to release two albums – TRESPASSING the faux tracks, and TRESPASSING the real funk. Both albums will be released on May 15, 2012.

There will be a super deluxe album call TRESPASSING: The Faux and the Funk.

Adam has collaborated with some of the biggest names in Funk on this new album. Everyone is keeping the list secret.

There will be a Summer FUNKATASTIC 2012 TOUR. George Clinton who joined forces with Adam on the new album will be joining Adam on his upcoming tour. Clinton said, “If you got funk, you got style. And Adam has funk.”

Prince has worked on at least two of the new secret tracks including the new single a cover of the Ohio Players funk classic, “Love Rollercoaster”.

Stevie Hawkins, the funk master, consulted on the album and is helping Adam put together a 14-person band for the tour.

Adam was recently spotted buying vintage 70’s apparel in West LA – and eyewitness reports say that denim, pleather and embellishment was involved.

The new Funk Tracks album will include 6 covers of funk classics and 14 new tracks!! The covers include “Love Rollercoaster” (confirmed) and these 5 tracks (rumored, listed with original artist):

I spoke to Adam (OMG!!) about his new direction and he said, “Yes, I have headed in a new direction. The music is a fun, party album with some funk rock, electro, go go and boogie tracks. It will just make you get up off of your ass and move.”

Q: Have you finished recording?
Adam: We are working on a special funk jam for the deluxe album right now. And that will wrap up this project.

Q: What was the biggest surprise so far?
Adam: The promotional plan was to put out some music that did not represent the album. We did not care what it was and just threw it together quickly. I was so surprised that fans liked these tracks. The response to the “Faux Tracks” was a surprise to everyone.

Q: You said that this cycle was going to be more leather and less glitter. Is that really true?
Adam: (Laughs) Well, there may be more skintight pleather – is that leather? And a lot of lasers and fireworks and smoke and spaceships. It will be FUNKATASTIC!!

Q: Will your new single, “Love Rollercoaster” be true to the original?
Adam: (Falls over laughing!!) Not a chance! You will just have to wait to be surprised. We even changed up the lyrics. It is fresh with a killer electro beat.

Q: So what’s next?
Adam: While they are working on the costumes and set for the tour, I am headed back into the studio to work on a new Rock Opera with Brian May and Jim Steinman.

And we are working on the upcoming Idol performances. I am going to do three songs – one of the faux tracks, one of the funk tracks, and a cover of “I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)".

Adam Lambert's New Single Revealed!

Fans of pop singer Adam Lambert awoke this morning to find that their favorite had revealed the second single from his forthcoming album Trespassing. Lambert used his Twitter account to make the announcement:

@adamlambert: Next single is gonna be… GREENSLEEVES! : ) Will premiere it on NNN!!!!! #EnglishBalladeRealness : )

Reached by phone in her home in Northern Heavycreamshire, British lyricist/producer and part-time shepherdess Molly Fairlily admitted to collaborating with Lambert on the tune. "Aye, the lad and I worked on it a fair while back. My original version was a wee bit more industrial-punk but the boy wanted to really strip it back to its Renaissance period roots. And who can deny him anything when he looks at ye so bewitchingly with his eyes as blue as the cornflowers on the moor?"

A snippet of the song found by Lambert fans was rapidly circulated and analyzed on the internet. While obviously an unfinished version, the track was clear enough to reveal the delicate instrumentation backing Lambert's soaring vocals. Recognizable were harpsichord, lute, and reed pipe. Some fans argued that they heard the sound of lyre music, but were scornfully told by others to "clean their ears, it was obviously a zither."

However, all agreed that the song was undoubtedly a hit. It was pointed out that while the song's BPMs were lower than most current pop songs receiving airplay, a remix would undoubtedly bring it up to at least 120 BPMs and make it highly danceable. Early buzz seemed to assure that the song would smash at big-city clubs and Renaissance Faires alike.

Questioned about his unorthodox choice, Lambert shrugged. "We did a lot of market research," he stated. "I just finished a month-long radio tour, talked to the PDs and DJs, and of course I'm all over Twitter, lurking the fans. It was pretty obvious that no one could agree on which snippit was the best choice for single number two. So instead of disappointing the Cuckooberts or making the NCOEberts cry, we decided to go in a completely different direction. This way, everybody's happy!"

Lambert promised an electrifying performance on the NewNowNext Awards. "We've been rehearsing for the last couple of days. Between naps, Tommy Joe's gotten really good on the flute. People are in for a real treat!"

Trespassing, due out May 15th, is available for pre-order on Amazon now.
