Bruno Mars became Bruno Mars by putting his own music out there. Same with Adele. Adam's music is just as good as theirs, and as a singer and performer he's better than the both of them put together. But remember that even Bruno didn't have his first hits all on his own. I remember Adam commenting (way back 2009ish) about this "new guy" with a great voice, Bruno Mars, who was a featured singer on a couple hit songs. I remember something about this because I decided to check out Bruno because of the comment. Then his own album blew up. Piggy-backing has worked for many people lately with the trend of being a "featured artist." Bruno Mars From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Peter Gene Hernandez (born October 8, 1985), better known by his stage name Bruno Mars, is an American singer-songwriter and record producer. ....
Mars had an unsuccessful stint with Motown Records, but then signed with Atlantic Records in 2009. He became recognized as a solo artist after lending his vocals and co-writing the hooks for the songs "Nothin' on You" by B.o.B, and "Billionaire" by Travie McCoy. He also co-wrote the hits "Right Round" by Flo Rida featuring Ke$ha, and "Wavin' Flag" by K'naan. In October 2010, he released his debut album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans. Yep. Bruno first got his recognition for writing THE HOOKS on songs that sold MILLIONS of downloads around the world. Not a bad start! Add his four solo Top 10 singles, a couple of other Top 10 collabs, and Cee Lo's #1 smash song, Forget You, and you are looking at around TEN Pop smashes in the past three years! The guy knows how to write some catchy songs with great hooks. Is NCOE a song like one of these hits? IDK, no one ever really knows what will or won't be a hit song! I do know that Bruno is an excellent songwriter and knows how to write good solid Pop songs. Whether NCOE is a released single or not, I'm happy that Adam was able to record one of Bruno's songs for his album. That information will look good on the press releases sent out before the album release!

Adele's and Bruno's songs have been awarded multiple Grammy awards and too many other awards to even list. Adele's album was the Album of the Year and is about to go DIAMOND in the US alone. At this point, it;s almost like comparing Bruno to The Beatles. He has a ways to go! Adam has a ways to go. PINK has been the primary writer of many songs over the years, that have not only gone on to become massive hits, but have received industry respect and industry rewards. We aren't talking about a newbie here. Adele is the primary writer of the lyrics of every song (except for the cover song) on her album that was Album of the Year. It's hard to argue with that. You can, but there aren't many people outside of the fandom that would agree with you. That's who I'm referring to when I say radio listeners. Maybe I should say music listeners and the music industry. Why can't Adam be a one-of-a-kind vocalist and performer who is a good co-writer and is still working on his skills in that area? Adam, himself, would never put himself in the category as someone like Adele or PINK, at this time. He knows that he is just starting out and is learning. There is nothing wrong with this! He can continue to learn about writing good Pop songs (which is what he is doing) for years and years! TO ME: ALL of the songs that Adam co-wrote are BETTER than any of the songs that he did not - this includes FYE and TP stuff that we've heard so far. I can literally "pick" those, there is something special to the musicality and the depth of his lyrics... even the "crazy" ones, like DTRH and CC. (unlike the "same old" whiny stuff of WWFM, BTIKM and NCOE) So, I can't agree more with the "take the risk" argument... ITA. Adam's songs got defiance, rebellion to some degree, what he calls "the rock'n'roll spirit". NCOE and Naked Love lack it completely (which is not to say they aren't good also). And tigerlily, I don't see why Adam couldn't find himself in the same position of BM or Adele next year, and win album of the year. I know I haven't heard the album yet ;D, but it doesn't seem like such a long strech. Adam's had writing experience since before AI, and Adele is only 24, isn't she? How many years of experience does she have?
