Upon repeated listening to the new version, the changes in the melody -- and there are many --- alter the mood of the song. For example, where the original went down a step on "Have you lost your WAY" and "message that you MADE" this version goes up a step. That puts the melody line more in a major key rather than minor. Don't want to go too deep into the music theory, but, the changes in the harmony make what we hear as "happy" harmonies, and the result of the melodic changes makes the sound more joyous. Then, when you add the pounding dance beat, and you get a celebration rather than a contemplation. Very smart!
