I LOVE the silicone bands!...so good for identifying fellow fans. No way in hell I'm gonna wear black and yellow. Nope. Sorry, can't do it.....even for Adam. Yellow and black were my absolute favorite colors...in high school. Had my own little goth thing going, and this was way before anyone knew what 'goth' meant, in a fashion sense. Haven't worn yellow much since then. But I would totally wear it again for Adam. But it has to be a bright/greenish or lemony yellow and not an orangey/gold-yellow. And no stripes! (Black is no problem -- my most-worn color, along with grey/silver. And aqua. And hot pink ;D). Oh I love yellow (I know most people aren't supposed to look good in yellow BUT I have red hair and think it looks good on me hehe....probably delusional) ..and I love black. Just can't get into the yellow/black mash-up.

Somehow, after watching the TP vids, I cannot get wrapped up in what Adam's next single may be, what and when he will sing on Idol, or whether the DJs and PDs play his songs. That's because ADAM IS A STAR. He has come into his own, and he has this incredible arsenal of talent, charisma, craft, technique, performing experience, and creative vision that is firing on all cylinders in Era 2. I am sure that the staging of Trespassing was almost entirely Adam. No one was crafting that image or telling him where to stand and how to move. It was smart, visually, with the tie-ins to the art work on the TP cover. Cohesive and striking. His choice of having the black gospel women as backing singers was surprising --- but not. They represented the "black woman," "Miss Thang" that Adam said lives inside him. But, more than that, Adam was illustrating his commitment to diversity and inclusion: gay, straight, male, female, black, white, petite, large, punk, traditional, all come together to share music and have fun. And, of course, there was the incomparable voice shining thru. I cannot help but compare this staging and performance to the AMAs. The boy man has come a long way in less than three years. He owned this stage because he created the performance from the ground up: his music, his vision, his staging, his lighting, his concepts, his comfort zones, and his confidence. This performance was not of an Idol contestant play-acting the fierce, outrageous, sexy rock star. This WAS the REAL fierce, sexy, supremely confident, performer in control of his domain. Even tho we have this video, it only makes me more confident that the broadcast version is going to be very compelling, exciting entertainment. DVR set and ready to go! I'm posting like crazy, and the new thread is up! But I just got here and there are posts on this thread I wanted to quote. Cassie, I really like what you said here. It's pretty much the same idea as what I posted a day or two BEFORE the performance, but you said it much better, and you have the evidence of the performance to back you up. Adam IS a star. We always knew that, and he has arrived. The rest is just details. I agree also that the staging of that performance was entirely Adam. Loved the backup singers, and loved that you referenced 'miss thang', as well as your comments about diversity. Loved the confetti, loved the composition of the band. Adam really has come a long way in three years, and his confidence has clearly grown by leaps and bounds. Prior to this performance, I allowed myself to question whether he could really continue to surprise and wow me, and um, yes, yes he can. And he did.

I just love everything tonight...Brian, The Girls, the performance, the confetti, the attitude, the black/yellow bands, the recaps, the birthdays and birthday cakes, the pictures, the vids, the love, the support, the "almost instant" info on anything new, the ease in navigating this homeplace, the openness, the help, the compassion............and most of all for Adam-Fucking-Lambert...the catalyst Ahh, dead-thread time! Love it! I can ramble on without shame! My bio of George Sand wasn't lulling me to sleep, and my roommate was blasting Concert for George, so I got up and watched the pilot episode of Shameless--which has been on my to-do list for a long time. SO GOOD!!! So then I thought I'd check Atop one last time and so glad I did. ILUVFUN42, ILUVYOURPOSTSOMUCH. And the cherry on top of the "homeplace" description was the Chokehold vid. Also SO GOOD!!! And a link to another interesting artist (JW) who has something in common with Adam. Also SO GOOD!!! I love Adam and I love it here. Misc: Rabbit we WILL dance (like no one's watching lol) one of these days! Mika I'm adding "dolphin noises" to my fav phrases to use when I'm squeeing about Adam, along with Susie's "stabby" when I'm grouchy! Durberville With your red hair and love of yellow/black (even if not when mashed up)--you might have a future with JW! I love Adam and I love it here. And now I can sleep!
