This is so sweet aurora! I'm a grammar geek in my language , I always get furious when reporters make terrible grammar mistakes on Greek TV because it's part of their job to know grammar , but here I don't think about it. If I thought about it I probably wouldn't have delurked in the first place. :D But I understand what SusieFierce is saying too for the US native speakers and for us, trying to explain the proper way of using "I" . Aawww gelly I understand what you are saying and what SusieFierce is saying too. And I really appreciate she took time to explain it. I meant our grammar police in a good way. Awww I KNOW you meant it in a good way , I KNOW! :D

Morning everyone....firstly, thanks for the I/me rule Susie - easy to remember and this English mother of American teenagers will find it very useful. Secondly, I have been a bit irrationally worried about the whole black and yellow theme.....I look awful in yellow! So I have decided to interpret this as black and gold, as in lots of gold jewelry. I know there are bigger problems in life but solving this one somehow feels like a real accomplishment! I noticed that's how Tommy and Ashley solved the 'color' problem. Tommy who word black had on that gold chain that I've seen Saulie and Adam wear, and Ash wore the gold sparkly top. Good on you Susie for policing grammar. I'm bugged by the constant mis-use of loose and lose. One way to remember the difference is to think how many 'o's in lost--so there would be just one o in lose. ;D Loose is how our clothes fit after we've lost a few lbs. That one makes me crazy too! But my biggest pet peeves involve apostrophes. The confusion over "its" and "it's" is understandable, but still, all you have to remember is that "it's" stands for it is. If you write "the dog chased its tail," and you're not sure whether or not to use the apostrophe, try saying "it is" in place of "its." Clearly you're not saying, "The dog chased it is tail." So leave out the apostrophe! Worse is when people seem to think that any word which ends in "s" should have an apostrophe in front of the "s." "Fresh apple's for sale!" AARRRGH!
