If NCOE IS the next single, I'm certainly not going to view it as any kind of a "downer." ??? ??? More like a sure-fire top 40 radio hit that will shoot up the charts and pave the way for more releases off his album. Exactly. |

Oh. Damn. I mean yay! Nope, still disappointed. Aww. I like NCOE well enough (much more than I ever liked BTIKM) but I really wanted the second single to be one of the crazy kick ass songs. And I'm amused by my own reaction here, I've been saying ( and believing, lol) that I don't care what the next single is...but apparently I do care. I didn't know I felt this way until I read heathcliff's first post.
I need to hear NCOE again. Where is the best link?
ETA: but it's not about me. Yay for a second single!

We get to hear all the songs when the album is released, so the only thing that matters about the single is its potential to climb the charts. I was hoping for Trespassing or Cuckoo, but Adam could have a hit single with Jimmy Crack Corn and I wouldn't care AS LONG AS IT'S A HIT!

Okay, shoot me...  but of the four snippets we had, NCOE was my immediate favorite, and even more so, when I got to hear the whole acoustic versions. And I confess: I don't like TP that much. Seen as a live performance, like at NNN, it is great, but when you just listen to it, to me it's boring. I know people here love TP, but it just doesn't click with me - sorry! If NCOE is the next single, I will be sooo happy! |

Yep, personally I've thought it was the likely front runner for quite some time, and the 'out of fandom bubble' responses to it from Top 40 listeners I've read have been great. It's a pet peeve of mine when people use 'we' when talking about how fandom feels about something --- because almost invariably you are excluding fans who feel the opposite. ETA: also until we hear it from Adam it's all rumor to me. |
