This place is funny. Our enthusiasm sways by each performance Adam makes. First BTIKM is earworm then it isn't. The snippets come out and NCOE is far from most popular and most want Cuckoo. Then Adam performs NCOE acoustically and it seems everyone then wants that for the next single. Until NNN and suddenly everyone who thought Trespassing wouldn't fit radio jumped on it's bandwagon.
I've been steadfast against NCOE but I can put my high from the NNNA aside and revert back to my "whatever the experts think is best for Adam's longevity in radio" mindset.
Let's try to be supportive. Adam is still the most talented artist out there, regardless of the single choice.

Oh. Damn. I mean yay! Nope, still disappointed. Aww. I like NCOE well enough (much more than I ever liked BTIKM) but I really wanted the second single to be one of the crazy kick ass songs. And I'm amused by my own reaction here, I've been saying ( and believing, lol) that I don't care what the next single is...but apparently I do care. I didn't know I felt this way until I read heathcliff's first post. I need to hear NCOE again. Where is the best link? ETA: but it's not about me. Yay for a second single! LOL yep... ditto. :-[ :-/ ???

NCOE - my least favorite. I wanted Trespassing, so he would soar.

I am disappointed that RCA didn't give Adam the chance to SHINE on radio with one of his babies (TSP/CKOO). NCOE sounds too much Brunoish to me and will do nothing to showcase Adam's vision.
I will support NCOE in every way possible in the hopes that it becomes a big enough hit that enables Adam to release his own sound. Adam really wanted Trespassing as the next single...oh well. I'm happy for those of you who love the choice.

NCOE wasn't my favorite of the snippets but it is the only one I absolutely cannot get out of my head. Someone mentioned before about Cukoo being great for proms, etc., but I think NCOE fits that whole season perfectly. Those are the nights you want to last forever. I think it's a good choice and will do really well. I don't think it will hurt to have the Hooligans help requesting either.

Yep, personally I've thought it was the likely front runner for quite some time, and the 'out of fandom bubble' responses to it from Top 40 listeners I've read have been great. It's a pet peeve of mine when people use 'we' when talking about how fandom feels about something --- because almost invariably you are excluding a fans who feel the opposite. THIS ^^^^^^^^^

My initial reaction to the Larry Flick NCOE was dismay. A gut feeling that I couldn't control. I will now consciously try to be more upbeat. :D
But what really is dismaying is the low key secretive way it was introduced if it in fact IS single #2. WTF RCA?

I believe our support of AFL is unwavering. It's our emotions that ride the roller coaster.
(insert gif of roller coaster here!)
