I think what bothers me is that it seemed obvious that Adam wanted either Cuckoo or Trespassing for single #2. It's like he's thinking "Curses foiled again!" But since I loved all 4 snippets I will not wank. I will not wank. No I won't. I think saying "it seemed obvious" that Adam wanted one of those songs is a bit of a stretch. Adam has said things here and there, but nothing definitive, and we really don't know (and may never know) his true feelings about what he wanted and whether or not he got it. I just get a bit uncomfortable when some people in fandom go down the "Adam is getting fucked over by his label" path. None of us are in the rooms where these decisions are being made. Anyway, it'll be interesting to see if NCOE is indeed the next single. I pretty much figured it would be, and I love the song, actually. More than Trespassing, to be honest, and I know that's sacrilege  I just figured out something I should have known a long time ago. When it comes to Adam my favorite is whatever I've last heard-- because ADAM IS JUST THAT GOOD! He can sell anything to me because HE IS JUST THAT DAMN GOOD!! Everything he sings is the best! because Adam never does anything half way. You can bet if NCOE is his single he will sing the fuck out of it with full conviction and with every glorious vocal gift he has because that is Adam. I could bet anyone he is proud of NCOE. It was my favorite before the NNN Trespassing because-- well, it is a beautiful song. Then he "sold" Trespassing to me. Now he will blow us away again with NCOE. It's just like that with Adam. Lucky fans, we are. |

I have to look on the bright side. I picked NCOE as the next single this morning when I picked the release date. However, I picked the wrong release date. Did I win anything? I was just smiling to myself after reading irish1139's post, because I "inadvertently" picked Never Close Our Eyes when I meant to pick Cuckoo as the next single for the little contest. My brain does not seem to work very well when it comes to remembering lyrics or melodies or anything else about music (this is related to having the nuns in grade school walking around with rulers to be used if students did not sing notes correctly when they were teaching music...sorry to share this info, but it was true). :-) So I feel very fortunate to have no expertise or knowledge about music - anything and everything that Adam gives to the universe is amazing, beautiful, marvelous (well, "smile" for that adjective), pure, message-driven, beyond reproach, miraculous, lovely, born of truth, authentic, spiritual, fun, and valued from the depths of my soul. Oh, happy day! No one is going to hit me over the head with a ruler for loving every moment of all things Adam. |

I'm confused then, who was the guy who tweeted about how much harder the full version of NCOE hits (as compared to the snippet)? It was pretty recent. Adam himself said that at SF Star 101.3 After he finished singing the song he said "wait till you hear it, you heard a rough draft (sp?) It his HARD .  |
