I understand where you're coming from, that's my fantasy too. Fact is though, Adam is not going to be a big mainstream pop artist AT ALL without radio support, let alone that next "wow, totally different" artist which we all think he should be. If radio wants to play NCOE, let them play that. For me it's a thousand times better than not playing any of his songs at all. I think we ALL get that – I'm not discounting the radio issue at all; the debate (for me) is will radio indeed play NCOE any more than it will play the others? Or any less? This is what I don't know and why I don't particularly trust radio atm. If the PDs gave their feedback and it is indeed NCOE (if so, why the hell haven't they just announced it then?), let's get this show on the road!! NO ONE, knows the answer to this! Not RCA, Adam or the fans. It is impossible to predict what will or won't "hit" on radio! RCA is taking all the information from the people who are actually in the position to add and spin Adam's next single, and they are making a million dollar decision. RCA wants Adam and this album era to succeed and they are the ones with the information and they are the ones that have backed this era with their money. Do fans think that RCA wants to pick a song that fails? They are hoping they pick a WWFM, and not another BTIKM. Really- what else can they do?

IMO, NCOE may be a great "radio ready" single but it will not sell the album. It won't sound like the rest of the album. It's not "Crazy shit" Adam. I listened to KIIS LA for a straight 75 minutes while driving last night and there is NO common thread with what they are playing. ZERO! NADA! But, most of the songs were very unique! There were at least 4 that did not sound Pop friendly or KIIS friendly and they were from new artists and getting played! Will people who like NCOE even like Trespassing or Cuckoo or Shady? That's why what Susie wrote last night is like a GOLDEN post for me. We talk about "branding" all the time. Trespassing, Cuckoo, Chokehold, are all Adam's brand. NCOE is not. I am resigned to NCOE being the next single, but no matter how many it sells or how high it charts, I will never be happy that RCA did not choose songs that were Adam's mission statement for this album And people can talk about WWFM until they turn blue. What Adam needed in 2009 and what Adam needs now could not be more different. How do we know what NCOE sounds like in comparison to the rest of the album? We've only heard it acoustically and Adam himself said it hits HARD. We haven't heard Shady at all but somehow it's already linked with being similar to Trespassing and/or Cuckcoo. I've followed other artists for years and honestly I've never given an ounce of thought to which single the label decides to release to radio. The radio singles are rarely if ever the best songs on the album or the most representative of the album. The radio sngs are the most universal both lyrically and sonically. I don't think Trespassing or Cuckcoo qualify on those terms. I trust that Adam & Co know what they are doing and as a fan my only job is to support the decisions they make and not to second guess the professionals who do this for a living every single day.

I know absolutely nothing about radio and promoting songs to become potential hits, but the one thing I do know for sure is that you have to actually release something for it to have a chance to be a hit. WTF...Come on RCA. The whole direction with this album from the strange timing of releasing BTIKM at Christmas, to having nothing released a month out from the album release has me scratching my head. ???

Yes, when he did his interviews in LA, right before the EU promo. It was before the release date of the album was changed. Several asked him about the Bruno collab. He consistently said he did not know if it was going to be on the album because it didn't fit. I don't think he was talking about the amount of minutes! ;D wasn't that before he went into the studio with Bruno and recorded the vocals for it? wasn't that before any production work was done? A lot can change between a demo and a finalized track. A more recent statement from Adam was that the song HITS HARD and that people are going to be surprised by the finished version. I guess I'm taking a wait and see approach. I haven't heard ANY of these songs in their finished state so I can't possibly judge them or form a logical opinion on which ones fit and which ones don't. Also, as EP, Adam has a lot of say in the tracks that made the album, to project that NCOE is so out of place is to insinuate that Adam let himself be steamrolled over by the suits and didn't stick to his vision of the album even though he's said repeatedly that this was a team effort and that all decisions have been made together.

That is exactly my point, so people acting "as if" NCOE is some kind of radio guarantee make me say ??? ??? There ARE no radio guarantees. Yes, and TOTALLY GET how much RCA has invested in this and I also don't think they will give up on one roll of the dice either. If Adam has to go out and tour his ass off, he will. Adam has a lot of end-arounds for radio once the album drops that he didn't have with BTIKM – he'll have TV, personal appearances (larger than individual stations) and Queen, of course. He's also already laid down a lot of radio foundation. He has sensational management, is an incredible live performer and does have a solid (and building) international following. He will get live TV gigs even with moderate album success. He doesn't have to live and die based on this one single. Would it be awesome if it smashed? OF COURSE!!! And songs from major artists and major labels flame out all the time. Just because they've surveyed PDs (isn't that what radio promotions does all day, every day?), it doesn't guarantee anything. Once they start spinning, I will be happy as a clam and all about NCOE.

I so agree RCA seems catatonic in it's inability to make a decision and go with it.Enough already.. get that new single out there
