So scripts for shows are not previewed with the artists or their management prior to airing? I don't want to be hung up on the wording used by NNN to promote TP, but they could have said song from upcoming album or just new song, but "debuting new single" seems rather specific to me. And I find it interesting that Adam continued to focus on the song AFTER the performance. No, they probably aren't. I wouldn't get my hopes up over something that was sais on some TV show. From what I understand, Ellen introduced Strut as "Adam's next single". That didn't happen. Ellen is a much bigger deal than a awards show that most people have never even heard of! Oh, I did not know that. thanks. I guess I just want it to be.....TP (If it is posted enough, they will believe)

Adam's next single will be a global release. While we can discuss the pros and cons of whichever song RCA releases next for the US market, I believe they do think about the international markets as well.
Branding is important to Adam. It is also an evolving process; unexpected events can happen and Adam/label/management accept, adapt, regroup, explore, change, and explode. There are no sure things in business, and Adam knows that. It also holds true for his next single. Like he said - ' I don't need no sympathy, I won't cry and whine. Life's my light and liberty, and I'll shine when I wanna shine.' He and Pharrell really had one hell of a session. Loads of kudos to Pharrell. TRESPASSING is Adam.

I know it was/is my fantasy that Adam would be that next "wow, some totally different" artist that would shake or stir things up. NCOE is not a Poker Face moment, if WWFM was Let's Dance. I understand where you're coming from, that's my fantasy too. Fact is though, Adam is not going to be a big mainstream pop artist AT ALL without radio support, let alone that next "wow, totally different" artist which we all think he should be. If radio wants to play NCOE, let them play that. For me it's a thousand times better than not playing any of his songs at all. I think we ALL get that – I'm not discounting the radio issue at all; the debate (for me) is will radio indeed play NCOE any more than it will play the others? Or any less? This is what I don't know and why I don't particularly trust radio atm. If the PDs gave their feedback and it is indeed NCOE (if so, why the hell haven't they just announced it then?), let's get this show on the road!!

Off topic but just want to say that if any of you have the chance to go see Jessie J in person, run to buy your tickets!! Amazing show last night. She may be the UK, female version of Adam!

Catchy is good for Pop radio, so are great hooks and a million other unpredictable variables! I don't know that a brand is so important at this point. If RCA doesn't get a song to the top 20 on CHR, a brand isn't going to matter!
Adam has changed his brand anyhow since the last era. Who knows? Maybe that is hurting more than it is helping. It's all a guessing game and there are no surefire hits or sure things in the music industry.
RCA has sent out two possible singles to PDs at Pop radio stations. I'm pretty sure that RCA will go with the single that got the best feedback. From there, it's all down to timing and luck and if it catches on with the general listening public!

She can sing but she is far from Adam in terms of charm and intelligence. I watched an interview with her on youtube, and it was very painful. I used to be a singer in my youth, and now I am looking for something more than the good voice in my fav artists.
