My main beef on the mix of that was that the bass needs to be way pumped up for that song and it's the heartbeat of it, I could barely hear Ash playing. Need to take a leaf out of Queen and another one bits the dust - the bass line in that RULES. Song will be much funkier and stronger live if they do that.

His stage banter is only stale to those who have watched every single video. When I show his GNL perfs to other friends they say things like, "Oh, I can relate to that.." when he intros his songs.. It's fresh and heartfelt to them. True. I remember in the begining of GNT he said it wasn't planned/choreographed.....and then I watched, night after night after night after.....yes my dear it was planned out (not that i minded lol) I thought his banter became much more relaxed during the European portion of GNT and especially the final 2 shows in LA. Some have said that they don't want banter at all. But I think the banter is necessary for him to give his vocal cords a little rest between songs. It could be rather straining on his vocal cords to go from one song to another for 60 minutes with no rest. Also, he puts so much physical energy into each performance that his body also needs the slight rest a little bantering gives him. I know that when my ameture dance troupe does a 45 min show, none of us could make it through without the 1 minute rest the introductory speach to each number gives us.

CLARIFICATION: I NEVER mentioned anything about a political statement. That is not what I meant at all. "People's defenses" can be anything. It can be resistance to pop music, male pop stars, guys who wear excessive jewelry (me, guilty – that is something I would have eye-rolled and dismissed him at on my first viewing had he not totally blown me away with his performance – yes, totally prejudicial on my part, but it used to be soooo not my taste, but I got the hell over it in a blink of an eye after I saw him perform ONCE). Other arbitrary (but no less real) reasons people will dismiss: makeup, American Idol association, OTT fashion, just general fabulousness that people are not used to. Look how many WGWGs have won Idol? People gravitate to safe, but aren't excited or dazzled by it. ALL of these are reasons people resist that have nothing to do with his sexuality, which is yet another reason for them to resist. People often don't even realize they're doing it. They decide they don't like him "for some reason." How often do we see "I don't really like Adam Lambert, but his new song is really good." Well, really, if anyone has paid any attention, there is really very little not to like. But they have made this decision that they don't like him based on an immediate assessment they are not aware of. I totally know I would not have likely gravitated to him as an artist based on initial presentation. It wasn't until he blew my mind with his performance did I snap out of my usual "Meh..." feeling about music in general (at the time) pay attention. Way late in responding to this comment but I had to leave. But just to be clear -- I wrote the word "political" and I believe that at least two tracks from Trespassing are political statements in that they are about equal treatment and equal rights. > Outlaws of Love > Trespassing They are as political as the civil rights era liberation songs --- for example, Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come" or Marvin Gaye's Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler). Trespassing....is a gay liberation anthem: "I don't need no sympathy. I won't cry and whine. Life's my light and liberty and I'll shine when I wanna shine." That is why it is a powerful song and has substance and is important. That is also why I think that the song, and more importantly the way it deserves to be performed, might not be the best approach to winning over mainstream pop audiences or more specifically the conservative American Idol audience. Compare Trespassing to the Gay Anthem Party song from Pink --- So raise your glass if you are wrong In all the right ways, all my underdogs We will never be, never be anything but loud And nitty gritty, dirty little freaks Won't you come on and come on and Raise your glass! Just come on and come on and Raise your glass!
Slam, slam, oh hot damn What part of a party don't you understand? Wish you'd just freak out (Freak out already) Can't stop, coming in hot I should be locked up right on the spot It's so on right now (It's so fucking on right now)There are lots of other songs about being different or left out -- that is not what Trespassing is about. JMHO YMMV but I think that Trespassing is not the right single for Adam at this moment and is not the right song for American Idol. I do not think the Idol audience is ready for a fierce gay man -- and Adam performing that song is fierce -- is a wonderful and great way. I also think that Trespassing will be an important song in 10 years as it will be after the album is released.

wut? LOL! Darlin' I never said he shouldn't introduce the band....I said calling it a "rock" band sounds silly... and I stand by my OPINION about his bantering skills. Put THAT in your pipe and fuck it. *smiles sweetly* oh...while I'm at it... "unbelievable" are all these hit and run posts. ..wait... I missed something... what is it about Adam's "banter" skills? IMO he is awesome with his banter! It is really our problem: watching all 125 out of the 125 tour concerts... every possible recorded angle... he did not repeat the singing...repeating a few words - why not? re "band"... how should he call them? what is it if not a "band"? It ain't orchestra (unfortunately) His banter is just fine with me. And I do mean fine in every way. *picky.picky.picky*

Yeah, I agree bridgeymah but my other ones were taken down and this was the only one I could find. There was one that you could really hear Ashely's badass base but I couldn't find it. Gelly maybe you could find a better one.

Adam started following
Jamar Rogers @jsquidward I am the certified King of Shenanigans. Oh yeah, I'm also on Season 2 of The Voice. Oh yeah, I also like to pretend I'm cool.
I liked Jamar very much. Jamar was the first one who hugged Adam when Adam made it to the top 36. I was really dissapointed when he didn't make it on Idol. I thought he was 10 times better than his friend who made it.

How about this one that Gelly posted yesterday... Gabby that one is great! Thanks. Sugaree use this one because it's much better than the one I posted. ETA: I see Gelly has another link for you above my post.

Q3 Thanks for expanding your thoughts. I had not looked at the song that way at all.
