Hmm... Lot's of personal value judgments about NCOE included in this thread, as is expected and completely understandable. The funny thing is that nothing fans say about the radio game has any actual influence on it, but value judgments about a song, whether negative or positive can influence how others inside and outside fandom perceive and receive it. So I'll just throw in some of my own subjective observations/feelings: NCOE for me is a fun "lets-party-all-night" song but with the twist of limited time with someone you love, there is poignancy because the morning is going to come, things will change, there are consequences, we can't remain in this bubble together forever. I can actually personally relate to it very strongly, having had a serious long-distance overseas relationship for years. Looking back at some of the happiest and most personally meaningful times of my life I was picking my way through city streets or country lanes at 5:00 am, still reeling from the magical time I'd just had. In terms of the sound, I need to hear the final mix, but I hear the bones of dance music, and I'm intrigued and curious. and noreaster - he performed all the single choices except Naked Love multiple times during the radio promo tour. Why did Adam perform Trespassing on NNN (besides that it fit the occasion)? Why release snippets of all four singles, why perform multiple new songs in promo stops? Because it does give an idea of the breadth and depth of his album. The more songs that get some exposure, the more likely that listeners will hear one or more that they love, and be interested in checking out the rest of the album IMO. AMEN to ALL of this. I bow to the goddess that is rabbit.

Well damn. I got 4 wrong...because apparently I can't spell (trespassing), I can't subtract (year of birth), and I don't know any American geography (I know adam's city of birth, but not the state it is in). LOL One question messed me up though, when did Adam perform "what's up" on idol?? That was the song I picked As the one he never performed, yet the quiz said I was wrong. That's the only one I got wrong! The "What's Up" question was the hardest on that quiz --- I think. ETA: DITTO to the cat photo right above me!! :::: Memo to self -- collect some clever and pithy cat photos :::::

Good God in a high chair. I always feel a little guilty for posting calorie-less fluff when the discussion of the day has been so meaty. (Nod to Biggest Loser. It always influences my posts on Tuesday nights. That, and the delicious moscato.) So (coordinating conjunction starting a sentence - shoot me with a big gun) I'm unhooking the looploc cover and dipping into the deep end. (Ha! Even English-as-a-first language peeps may be confused by that one. Google it, I say.) I like NCOE and can understand (and cope) if it's the next single. But (another conjunction) if this era comes to an end without Trespassing being a single, I will be mightily disappointed. I love Trespassing. It speaks to me in a huge way. I don't care what RCA does to pave the way, just please, please, please, let Trespassing have its day. My life will be complete. I don't know why I can't post in a succinct, intelligible way. Well, yeah, actually I do. When I'm of sound (read sober) mind, I'm disinclined to communicate. A cross I bear.
