I hope Adam does as many TV shows with his second single .. Is Ellen a possibility,late shows,etc..so exciting.. all the new songs on Trespassing to kvell over.

Haven't commented yet on the two singles but felt I wanted to do so now. Someone once said that they would come to my teacher's brilliant astrology seminars even if he was teaching knitting! I thought about that today. I love and will support Adam if he was singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I will still vote my fingers off and make everyone I know listen to that voice.
And, it is that voice that I would like to address. I think it is a voice still looking for its break through vehicle and as much as I like everything I have heard, I have not yet heard IT. Maybe IT is on the album. I don't know. Please don't get me wrong. I love Trespassing, Cuckoo etc. but they are not that rocket ship that takes him to the unassailable position that his voice, persona, charisma and soul deserve.
I am not surprised nor distressed. I don't think it is quite the time. The groundwork is still being constructed. As Paula said, he will be iconic and we will all witness it.
I did some "playing around". I have been learning to try to time things accurately. Tried it out with the release of BTIKM video and this single. Both hit my second choice date and time. Close but no cigar. However, along with the timing exercise, I also "asked" whether they would be be successful. I never mentioned what came up for BTIKM because it was not the answer I wanted. It wasn't a flop but it wasn't a hit.
BTIKM grew on me but only because it was Adam singing so masterfully. NCOE will be the same story for me personally but it looks to me that the universe will support this one much more. Please don't get me wrong. I like NCOE. It will grow on me and play in my head but it doesn't move me in that completely visceral obsessive way. Perhaps the songs that were the closest to that for me though in very different ways were Fever and Broken Open.
I found myself thinking about the parallel between these two Trespassing releases and the first two off FYE. That parallel breaks down in the sense that Adam really wanted FYE as the first single but in another way I am hopeful the parallel holds. The second release in both cases are penned by mega pop stars in their own right. If history repeats itself (and hopefully exceeds itself) perhaps the Bruno Mars boost (like the Pink connection) will let this single break through the radio inertia. Both are tried and true pop pros that know the formula.
We need a clean hit here and no matter how I feel about this song, I think we have a good chance of getting it.

YAY!! Finally a media person agrees with me!  Now if it can only be release in the US, and have radio people play it. Sounds so, so so much like a summer smash to me. okay marie .. let us (you and I) hope that this song will get a lot of download.. so it will become the next single.. LOL .. imagine his sexy voice in this song... ;D ;D I have a feeling that I'm going to love/like all the songs on this album!! So happy, sounds like such a good album already. |

Ollie worked on NCOE after Bruno gave it to Adam, but before Dr Luke was added. Oh, if radio doesn't play the crap out of this song, Imma cut a bitch! Adam writes "most" of the songs on the album. He is proud of that fact and talks about it everywhere. So, there are 3-4 songs out of 16 that he did not write. TWO of those are his first singles. How do you think he feels about it? This is the case where I choose not to believe his enthusiasm. It does not compute on any level. not to me. makes me feel sad for him... and I can't help it... has nothing to do with my own perception of the songs... I sure hope the radio success will come this time and the next single will be one of the babies conceived by him. ... anyway... where do we vote and where do we request and where do we buy NCOE? I am ready to GO! Nica... Adam wants to have another hit song like WWFM.. he wants to get radio play and support from radio, because he wants people to buy his album (aka his "baby"). If you think that he wanted his own song to be the next single, I think he can put aside his personal feeling at this time, because he knows really well that he needs that radio play. That's why he did that crazy radio promo last month... and will do that free radio concerts this Spring and Summer. We need Adam to break the music industry ... if NCOE can get tons of radio play and sell the single and Trespassing the album, and get him a nomination for Breakout Artist of the Year, so be it. And if this song is a hit then he can get 3rd single... then maybe.. just maybe RCA will let him release his own song for the next single. I'm a dreamer but also a pragmatic. I just want Adam to break that "WALL" .. if he does it this year, maybe going forward his path will not be too rocky for him. eta:... so girlfriend... be happy for Adam and let's see the big picture ;D ;D ;D |
